My Response To "The Unicorn Frappuccino Fad"

Start from the beginning

I guess that at some point by the time that they were selling these Unicorn Frappuccinos seemingly rapidly, they soon realized that there was a possibility that their employees could quit any moment. Because of this they didn't have much of a choice but to stop producing and selling The Unicorn Frappuccino in order to avoid massive employee loss and go bankrupt. That's business for ya!

However, if you couldn't tell I'm actually FAR from over with this response.

Part IV: JERKside Edition

Look, I know I sound a little bit "overreactive" by this. I'm sorry if that's the case, I'm just really passionate about this kind of stuff. It irritates me how people will say one thing and will do the other thing.

Here's the thing; if you're going to do a story to show how over hyped products can not only overwhelm employees but also show how people can easily fall for fads like this then the least you can do is to NOT buy the over hyped product yourself to not only overwhelm the employees more but to also encourage the people around to feed into this fad and buy MORE of said over hyped product!

When I first saw this video and saw that the narrator and two interns from Inside Edition bought The Unicorn Frappuccino just to give it a try, I got slightly irritated by this.

Why? Because since half of the video started off with how most of the Starbucks Baristas were overwhelmed with serving costumers with the very extremely hyped Unicorn Frappuccino, you'd think that Inside Edition wouldn't even DARE to buy one just to be respectful, right?

News flash, they did buy some Unicorn Frappuccinos and because of that I see them as jerks for doing so. These employees were at a serious risk of getting burned out and yet here are these Inside Edition people buying some Unicorn Frappuccinos while making a story off of how producing and selling The Unicorn Frappuccinos were overwhelming the Starbucks Baristas.

Part V: Why I'm Doing This?

I'm doing this because remember how in "Part III: Public Reaction" that one of the reasons why I'm doing this? Well I'm also doing this to spread the message of NOT to fall for fads similar to this one! Just because it's cool or awesome or whatever doesn't mean that you need it. It really doesn't one bit, not at all!

"A fad, trend, or craze is any form of collective behavior that develops within a culture, a generation or social group in which a group of people enthusiastically follow an impulse for a short period. Fads are objects or behaviors that achieve short-lived popularity but fade away." this is the close to official definition of what a fad is on Wikipedia.

Part VI: The Original Comment On This

The reason why my comment in this is more longer and thorough is because I felt that I could do a better job. However I will still show you guys my original comment on this to see what you think about it.

"What a bunch of jerks, the Inside Edition employees not the Starbucks employees they suffered enough from the looks of this stupid product that the company should've NEVER thought of implementing in the first place since it requires SO MANY ingredients just to look like colors of a Unicorn! So much for Inside Edition being "useful" and "trustworthy" now.

Seriously it feels like half of the time that whenever there's stories that seems funny and unreal when it's actually serious under the surface like this one and that one story where a family of 5 had to use melted snow in a pot to bathe their kids, Inside Edition would take one look at this and just be like, "Let's poke some fun out of this one! What could possibly go wrong?"

Epilogue: My Response To A Commenter On My Comment

As soon as I made the comment (for YouTube) someone had made a comment that said and I quote, "Dude you cringe 🤡 no one asked, it's their job to make drinks they signed up for it. Why so pressed?!" There was no way I was going to ignore this, so this is what I responded with;

"Ok first of all I don't care if I cringe, trying to be a cool kid is overrated and stupid. Second of all it doesn't matter if it's their job as long as burn out exist.

Seriously did you not pay attention about the fact that most of these employees was already getting sick of this fad and how it got to the point where people were buying The Unicorn Frappuccino in crates?

That one Starbucks Employee at the beginning of the video looked like he was going to have a mental breakdown due to how ridiculousl this Unicorn Frappuccino fad has gotten so far. Do people not care how employees are doing anymore? Did people forget that employees are human beings too?

If this Unicorn Frappuccino fad didn't prove on how customers will just eat up any fad nowadays just to avoid feeling left out, then I don't know what will."
