My bag floated up and towards me. My slugs, seeing what I was doing, knew what it meant and quickly hopped in, before I pulled it on. A smile tugged at Flame's lips as he jumped onto my shoulder. Pride, the good kind, was radiating off of him; he practically had a glowing aura.
"I hope I won't regret this," I said.
"Believe me," assured the orange slug, "you won't."

Remember what I said about bad luck?
Another explosion impacted the aquamarine crystal dome my Geoshard, Jade, had made using Domenator. She was currently on my shoulder, grinning after I had praised her for protecting me temporarily.
Why am I in this mess? Apparently, I had ran into the HooliGang during my walk, and had been caught up in my thoughts to notice them before the leader, Billy, and I collided. He had accused me of being blind, and there was no way from me preventing myself from standing up to him. He also mentioned that he didn't see me around before, which must have been an effect of me staying in my secret cavern. Huh.
Now we were fighting. Not really fighting fighting, rather, shooting slugs at one another until it was over and a winner was determined. This guy depends way too much on his slugs, I thought.
"C'mon out, scaredy-cat, I'm not finished with you yet!" Billy's shout could be heard inside the dome.
I'm not afraid, I think, but don't say out loud. Flame seemed to chirp otherwise. That did not help the task at hand.
"Well, on the bright side," I told him, "at least they're not using ghouls."
The next slug, whatever it was, did not cause any damage to the dome. That made Billy more frustrated than ever, as two more struck the sides really close to the previous hit. I'd almost forgotten that he had two assitants who were also part of the battle. Jeez, did they not know there was no prize afterward?
There was no time to criticise them with my thoughts of battle, unfortunately. I was really going to hate myself for doing this, but I had no other option. It wasn't that I was lazy to use my slugs, however, I badly wanted to end this absolutely ridiculous fight, just because of something I said and his uncontrollable temper. If you think about it, it was pretty stupid how it started.
Slamming my right foot down on the rock, I spread my fingers out and forced my hands upward. The earth vibrated and moved not too far away from my feet, directly underneath the HooliGang. It shoved itself upwards rather violently and pushed Billy and his friends off the surface of the rock. Their screams and shouts of shock and fear reached my ears, even from inside the dome.
"Just this once," I said to myself. Using the same technique with my powers, I parted the dome, but avoided stamping my foot. Instead, I moved my hands to the side and the crystal did the same, which parted a way for my exit.
I stepped out to see all three of them lying on the floor. Billy held his head, groaning in pain, not noticing me just yet. Their blasters lay a couple of feet away. My heart skipped a beat; they were defenceless. It was clear who had the upper hand now. Even though I had used magic, no one knew or saw me do it except for my slugs. I was safe. And if they did ask, I'd respond by saying that my slugs helped out a great deal in the escape department. Either that or I taught my slugs that move. Whichever sounded better and a more reliable excuse.
A yell from Billy pulled me out of my thoughts.
"It's not over, girly girl!"
Excuse me? Girly girl? Oh, I may have just thought about letting him off, but he was so going to get it now.
