Ch. 4 Surprise Visitor

"But what about your stand? I-I mean the human garbage can't last forever, if you need I could-"

"Don't you dare offer to give me your money." Eda raised a finger and looked at her sternly. "You deserve that lawsuit money after all the hell you've been through."

Catherine rolled her eyes and looked away, clutching the glass tightly in her hand. "Eda...There's something else I need to tell you."

"What is it?" Eda asked with concern.

"I've decided to stop hiding. After the whole petrification and Emperor Belos's fake speech about 'the titan's will' i've decided to stop hiding. I'm no longer a wild witch hidden in plain sight."

"Oh! Wow....Well Cath all I've got to say is....FINALLY!"

Catherine looked at her surprisingly. "What? I-i thought you'd be upset."

"Upset? Ha! I've been waiting 30 years for you to say those words! You hear that everyone my girl is back!"

Eda raised her glass up with a huge grin on her face. "To being wild witches." Catherine smiled and clicked her glass against Eda's.

They both took a drink.

Lilith was sitting on the beach watching the boiling sea shine in the moonlight with the stars shimmering. The beach had always been a safe place for her, especially at night.

It reminded her of when she and Eda would sneak out at night to go to bonfire parties or to just go swimming. It also reminded her of him. This is where she had her first kiss with him and where he took her on their first date.

She took a sip from a bottle of apple blood, the non-alcoholic kind. Someone has to make sure Eda doesn't run around on the roof again.

She chuckles to her self before standing up and heading back to the owl house. Hooty was asleep, Lilith smiled and gently patted his head before opening the door but she didn't expect to see someone she hadn't seen in a long time when she came inside.

"Oh my gosh Eda! You'll never guess who I bumped into at the market the other day!" Catherine said, taking another sip of apple blood.

"Who?" Eda's asked giggling.

"Catherine?!" Lilith stood in the doorway, her eyes widened like saucers.

"Lilith!" Catherine smiled and jumped up from the couch.

"Oh Lily! Guess who stopped by the check on us." Eda stood up and put an arm around Catherine.

Lilith stood there staring at Catherine for a moment trying to gather her thoughts. Before she could even think about it she ran towards her old friend and hugged her tightly.

"Catherine...I-I missed you so much."

"I missed you too Lilith."

"Come on guys. Let's not get all sappy here." Eda said playfully rolling her eyes.

The Clawthorne sisters sat down on the couch, Cathrine sat on the table in front of them. Eda just chuckled and poured Lilith a glass of apple blood.

The three women sat around and talked about how their lives have been for the couple weeks and their hexside days. It almost seemed like to them that the past thirty years of separation had never even happened.

"Wait! That actually happened to your gardener?!" Lilith asked as she put a hand over mouth.

"It did! I told the gardener 'don't touch the plants that have a small red fence around them or you could get hurt!' But did he listen no he didn't."

"Ha! So what happened to him?" Eda asked trying not to laugh.

"Had to send him to the healers. A broken arm with fingers sprawled out there was no way I would be able to take care of that. I swear his arm was more purple than Alador's abominations."

"Alador? H-how is your brother doing nowadays?" Lilith asked leaning forward on the couch a little.

"Eh he's still a jerk. Him and I don't really talk all that much, I mostly go over to the manor to see the children."

"...I'm so sorry."

"It's okay. Honestly, I may be mad at him and hate his bitch of a wife but seeing the kids it makes it all worth it. Besides he's still my brother."

"Oh! That reminds me. Cath your youngest niece is upstairs with Luz." Eda said casually.

"Amity's here?!" Lilith gasped, surprised.

"Yeah? She came to see Luz for their book club or something."

"You left two teenagers who are dating alone upstairs?!" Lilith erupted. "Titan knows what they could be doing!"

"No! For your information Miss Perfect, King is upstairs with them and besides Luz has been sick the past couple of days if you forgot!" Eda said, sounding fed up. "If I recall correctly I know a certain somebody who used to sneak her ex up to her bedroom when our parents were asleep."

Lilith went pink in the face. Catherine started laughing hard.

"Oh my gosh! The look on your face is priceless! Hahaha!!"

"Shut up Catherine." Lilith muttered under breath.

"Ok, Ok no more laughing at you Lily. Eda do you mind if I go check on them. I just want to see if Amity may still be awake."

"Go ahead. But you have to stay quiet otherwise King will be cranky all night." Eda said taking another sip of her drink.

Catherine giggled before heading upstairs, She opened the door to Luz's room quietly. Luz was cuddled up to Amity and King was sleeping in between them snoring.

They were all sound asleep, she smiled at them. Amity looked relaxed. At ease. She was smiling in her sleep.

Catherine tiptoed over to Amity and kneeled beside her, she pulled the blanket up to her chin and kissed her on the cheek.

"Goodnight Mittens. I love you so, so much."
