Chapter 3

A/N
HEYY I'm BACk sorry this chapter has taken long, I wanted to make it long and I had a lot to put into this chapter. and this the longest chapter so far yay. Anyway...

This chapter is going to continue from where the last one ended.

Where Sophie and Layla find Abby.
And Abby tells them to quickly get inside.

Such a great explanation that deserves an A++ haha

ANYWAY...
let's get to the story shall we.

"Quick come inside" Abby said.
We walked inside and saw it was a mess like ours, but hers was worse. And there was also a little girl who we have never seen before and last time I checked I was pretty sure Abby didn't have a sister.
"Who is this?" I asked confused looking at the little girl standing behind Abby. Abby had dark brown wavy hair, she had brown eyes and she was taller than me and Layla.
"Um that's Clara" Abby said looking down at the little girl. She had blonde hair in piggy tails and she had blue eyes. She looked about 6 years old.
The little girl hid behind Abby's leg.
"She lived next door" Abby said not needing to say anymore because the look she gave us told us that Clara's parents died.
"Hello, how old are you?" I asked Clara.
"Hi, im six" Clara said shyly not looking at me because she was too shy.
"Um is it just you?" I asked Abby.
"Yeah" she said looking down at the ground.
"I'm sorry" I said giving her hug.
"Have you heard from any of the other girls?" Layla said.
"No, not yet" Abby said softly.
"Oh, I hope they are alright" Layla said with concern.
"yeah, me to" Abby and me said at the same time.
"So what happened to your family" Abby asked but the look she gave me said i didn't have to tell her If I didnt want to. But I needed to tell someone, if you get what i mean.
We all walked into the lounge room and sat down and i told her what happend to my family from whem Layla and I got woken up by mum to when we buried Sklyer.
"im sorry" Abby said while giving me a hug.
"if you dont mind me asking, what happened to your family" I asked looking at the ground.
"um well it all started when" she started off

flashback
It was about 5:00pm when I was waken by an ear peircing scream, I looked out my Window at where I tought I heard the scream come from and I saw a lady running away from something that had rotten flesh hanging off it and the smell, i could smell it from here it smelt like rotten flesh, which made sense because it had rotten flesh hanging off it, it made me want to hurl. Then I realized it was a...zombie, I jumped up and ran out of my room. i quickly go to the kitchen and grab the biggest knife i could find then i start Looking around the house franticly, trying to find someone in my family. Then i see something red...I think its blood, then i start to panic. Who's blood is it one of them or...my family's. I can't help the images coming into my head of my family being torn apart or eaten by a zombie. I try to push the images out of my head but it's not working.
I follow the blood trails into mum and dads room and I couldn't believe what I was looking at it was all my family laying on the floor lifeless covered in their own blood. I instantly start crying, I try and wipe the tears away trying to clear my vision but that didn't work, the tears just kept falling. Then i look again searching my family on the floor, where's Alex?
Then I hear a low growl and I tense up, it was coming from behind me, I turn around and I couldnt believe my eyes it was Alex but as...one of THEM. More tears come out of my eyes couding my vision even more.
I yell out to him trying to get through to him, even though its no point, I just can't believe he's 'dead'. Then he lunges at me and knockes me to the floor landing on top of me trying to take a chunk out of me. I pushed him off me and got my knife ready.
I dont want to kill him but I can't let him go through this torture. so I grab my knife firmly in my hand and run at him and drive it into his skull. He falls to the ground with a thump.
I make sure that none of my family are going to turn into a zombie and i leave. Then I quickly check the house for any other zombies and then I start blocking up the all the windows with what ever I could find then when I was just about to block up the door ther was a knock. but I kept quiet.
"please is anyone there" said a woman behind the door. but I still kept quiet.
"please, I have my 6 year old daughter and my husband died and i cant look after her, please if there is anyone in there please help me" the woman said again more desperately this time. I cant ignore a 6 year old who needs help, so I opened the door a centermetre and looked through seeing if she was telling the truth, then I opened it more seeing that it was the truth.
"please take her" the woman said bringing the little girl forward. You could tell the lady and the girl had both been crying.
"not to be rude but why" I questioned.
the lady lifted her sleeve...she had been bitten.
"please take her, she hasn't been bitten and I dont know how much longer I have until.." she said not needing to finish because I knew what was next.
"ok" I said while looking at the lady.
she looked relieved.
"Thank you, so much"
I watched her say good bye to her child.
"Clara please listen to this young lady, she is going to look after you now, I love you" the lady said while embracing the child. the little girl looked up at her mum,
"why do I have to go" the little girl said sadly a tear falling from her eye.
"because you will be safer with this person" the lady said while guestering to me.
"i love you mum" said the little girl said hugging tighter.
"I love you to, you need to go now" said the lady kissing the girl on the temple.
"ok, bye mum, I love you" the girl said tears falling freely now.
"come on" I said sweetly while taking her inside. Tears started to form in my eyes, but I just wiped them away.

After about 1 hour and a half of talking about what had happened since the start of the zombie apocalypse.
"Are we going stay here or go back to our house" I asked Abby.
"Maybe go back to your house, because it isn't really surrounded by heaps of houses like mine is so there are less zombies" Abby said.
"Me and Clara will go and pack some fresh clothes and stuff we need, and you and Layla go around the house and find stuff we need" Abby said while grabbing Clara's hand and walking out.
We went to the kitchen then to the bedrooms then the bathroom.
After about 5 minutes of quickly Looking around for useful stuff we found, a hand full of knifes more food and water and extra first aid stuff like, bandages, Painkillers and slings.
"Have you and Layla found every thing we need" Abby asked while walking into the room with Clara, they both had bags on their back.
"Yeah" I replied back.
"Well then let's go" Abby said grabbing a few knifes out of the bag and holding them.
"Clara stay in the middle of us ok?" Layla said.
Clara nodded.
I opened the door
"Layla and I will go around the house and check for zombies quickly and then we will tell you when it's ok to come out" I explained to Abby and Clara.
"Let's go Layla" I said as I opened the door.
We searched around the house for zombies.
And surprisingly there were none, so we went back to the Abby and Clara.
"Let's go" I said to everyone.
About 50 minites later.
"Are we nearly there" Clara said quietly.
"we are just over half way" I said back to her.
next minute I hear a groaning noise. My head automaticly turning to where the noise came from.
"Did you hear that". I whispered to Abby and Layla. So Clara couldnt hear, beacause i didnt want to scare her.
"yeah I did" they both said at the same.
"Quick Abby get behind Clara and Layla go beside her and I will be in front. I bent down infront of Clara quickly looking behind my back to check that THEY are not comming yet.
"Ok Clara we need you stay quiet, and stay behind me" I said while holding her shoulders
"Ok" she said I could tell she was scared.
then the noise came again this time its was a lot closer.
"get ready they're comming" I said to everyone.

This is the longest chapter so far yay 1706 words including A/N. Hopefully the chapters get longer and not shorter but SORRY because there might be some really short chapters, well there already has been, SORRY.

And again I am so sorry this chapter took so long, hopefully I dont leave any more updates this long, well sorry cant promise that but I will try.
