I never thought this would happen during the war.

It was in the north pushed the soldiers back towards all the way back to , The city was under siege and we're being deployed to help push the advancing northeners back.

I was in formation as the commanding officer of the battalion gave us a pep talk. The morale of the battalion suddenly rose.

We hopped in our vehicles from the FOB en route to Kiyata, Half the city was already taken over and as soon as we arrived heavy fighting already commenced. 1 of the 5 vehicles carrying soldiers was ambushed on the way to their entry point. We had to change course and help but when we got there only half of the soldiers remaining were able to fight properly the other half were either KIA or Heavily injured.

A third of my squad including me were ordered to help them while the rest immidiately moved back towards the planned EP.

"Hey Sarge, First day and this already happened. This is bullshit," Private Stone spike with a glum tone as he gripped his rifle tightly.

"Yeah, this is just horrible man," I replied as Sgt. Ramirez took over in leading the squad. We had to continue on foot as their vehicle could no longer be used.

After half an hour we reached the entry point and took positions before sweeping the area. Instead of pushing directly. Sgt.Ramirez decided that it would be better to move through the alleys and clear out buildings.

I gotta say thank god for that. If we didn't clear the buildings and continued forward we wouldn't be alive. We found enemy camps inside. We believed them to be enemy scouts due to their position deep in our lines.

"Hey Sarge, look, these bastards were armed to the teeth." One of the Privates pointed towards the two HMGs on the floor and one already mounted near the window.

"Onyx, this is Steel, Enemy positions confirmed in deep, I repeat enemy positions confirmed in deep." Ramirez spoke to the Radio. It was silence until someone spoke in a worried voice.

"Steel, it's Onyx. We're under heavy fire!" The radio was still on when we heard screams

"Steel, we're not going to make it. We're completely overrun, we need immediate support!" The C.O of Onyx spoke loudly before cutting off connection.

"Take those heavies and let's move to Onyx." Ramirez spoke as two privates ran over and picked up the HMGs.

It took us 15 minutes to reach Onyx. We could hear the fighting as we ran towards them. "Blue! Blue!" We arrived at their location most of them were pinned down behind an alley but some were trapped inside the buildings.

"What's the situation Forst?" Ramirez spoke to the the C.O

"Three to Five HMGs positioned on the 3rd and fourth floor of the building 150 meters from us. 10 of my men are already dead." Forst spoke as he clutched his side as a medic was attending to his wounds.

"Kingstone, This is Steel, Requesting immediate air support at Sector C." Ramirez spoke to the radio.

"Steel, Additional ground units are already on their way, Air support is not possible all birds are unavailable." The voice in the radio spoke.

"Fuck!" Ramirez cursed loudly before kneeling down to talk to Forst. "Just hold out here Additional units are on their way to help. We'll help you clear out those nests as well."

Forst just smiled bitterly before speaking "Better come back alive, I owe you for this."

"Me getting killed? Dream on." Ramirez chuckled before standing up.
