Emilia: W-Wait a moment! Who gave you the idea to do that to him then?

Regulus: Oh, It was that idiot's idea, honestly I didn't expect him to suggest something like that. It was a interesting experience to say the least, though it doesn't really matter to me. I'm just glad that I don't have to deal with any of those incompetant people anymore. It's really nice actually not to have to deal with them, they were disrespecting my rights, after all.

Emilia: O-Oh....I see.

Emilia knew exactly who Regulus was talking about.

She knew that the only one in the mansion who he called by name was her.

He called Rem as "Blue"

Anything that he called Ram normally ended with "Bitch" Which was a bit vulgar.

He called Puck and Beatrice as either "Spirit" or "Great Spirit"

He called Roswaal as "Clown"

And lastly....."Idiot" was reserved for Subaru.

To be honest, Emilia didn't really believe it, how could she ever believe that?

The somewhat short time that she knew him, Subaru has been nothing but kind to everyone. With her, the mansion residents, the villagers, or anyone he has met so far.

So why would he suddenly go around and tell Regulus to torture a knight?

Emilia: I need to go now.

Regulus looked a bit amused at her sudden needed departure.

Regulus: Whatever, just make sure not to assume such things anymore, got it? It's sad having to deal with these types of things when you have nothing to do with them.

Emilia didn't say anything as she left the room and started walking straight towards Subaru's room.

Subaru really didn't know what to think of what happened in the last view hours.

He had come to terms with the fact that Regulus wouldn't help him with the White Whale, but then he suddenly shows up? Like it's nothing?

Originally, he did think that it was for the better, after all he could make him help them against the Whale now, but then the whole situation in the Royal Election happened.

Not only that, but he heard that Julius had sustained life threatening injuries.

It's not like he regrets suggesting Regulus to do it, it was either this or Julius becoming a red smudge on the arena floor.

It did still make him feel like shit, even if it was for the better, he still suggested something so horrible.

God knows what would happen if Emilia found out-

*Knock, Knock, Knock*

Someone knocked on the door to his room, but whoever it was didn't bother waiting for his answer as they just opened the door.

It was Emilia, she looked quite worried, who wouldn't be? The events that happened at the Royal Election were pretty worrying.

Emilia: Subaru....Can we talk?

Weird. Wouldn't she rather talk to Regulus? Since this whole thing is his fault? Then again, talking to Regulus is like talking to a brick wall.

Subaru: Well, yea I guess.

Both of them sat down on the bed in Subaru's room, the atmosphere was rather akward. Emilia didn't really know how to begin.

So she just asked the important question.

Emilia: Is it true?

Subaru:....What's true?

Emilia: The idea to do that to Julius. To go as far as tortue him.....Was it your idea?

Subaru's heart skipped a beat, but not in a good romantic way, but out of shock.

Of course Regulus would have told her, the last thing he'd do is take some responsibility......Then again, it's not like it wasn't true, the idea was his no matter how you look at it.

Subaru did think about lying for just a moment, but Subaru remembered how much Emilia hates lying, and how it would come back to bite him in the ass.

So despite how easy it would have been to lie and blame Regulus. He told the truth.

Subaru: Yes.

There was another long akward silence, any hopes that Emilia had that Regulus was a liar were instantly crushed.

Emilia: Why.....Why would you tell him to do that?

Subaru: I-It's a bit difficult to explain....but it's also a bit simple.....It was.....for the best.

Emilia: What are you talking about?!

Subaru flinched a bit at her raising her voice.

Emilia: How is it for the better?! Julius almost died!!

Subaru: E-Emilia-tan, please c-calm down-

Emilia: How can I?! How can I calm down?! I just don't understand why you would suggest such a thing, I just don't get it!

Subaru: It's because-

Emilia: I don't get it! What were you thinking?! He almost died after tha-

Subaru: B-Because.....It's BETTER TO BE ALMOST DEAD THAN ACTUALLY DEAD!!

Emilia was stunned into silence as she listened to what Subaru yelled.

Emilia: H-Huh...?

Subaru seemed to realized that he yelled at Emilia, so he quickly put his hand over his mouth.

Subaru: A-Ah! Sorry for yelling.......

Emilia:....Subaru.....What did you mean by that....?

Subaru thought for a moment on how to say this.

Subaru: To put it simply....I've known Regulus for longer than any of you, so I know one thing about him....He doesn't take kindly to anyone attacking him....Or "disrespecting his rights" as he puts it......

Subaru: If he is pressured even slightly....Then he's willing to kill.....Without question.....

Emilia was stunned for a moment when she listened to what Subaru said.

Emilia:...But....Why wouldn't you tell him to just not hurt him...?

Subaru:....Emilia....It's difficult....To convince Regulus to change his mind....No, it's pretty much impossible to change his mind.....So really, the only choice I had was to make sure he didn't actually do anything fatal to him....

Subaru couldn't tell what Emilia was feeling after what he said, but it was easy to tell that happiness wasn't one of the emotions she was feeling.

Emilia:....I'll...I'll need time to think over what you said.....Subaru, we'll he going back to the mansion tommorow....Make sure to tell Regulus, oka-

Subaru: W-Wait! Emilia-tan....I, uh....Still have to do something here in the Capital, could I stay here for a few more days?

Emilia:....Yea, that's fine....

And so, she left the room, leaving Subaru to finally start his, what was supposed to be smooth plan to defeat the White Whale and Sloth.....

Subaru walked out of the room, after all he wanted to make most of this garbage situation.

So he walked as he saw Regulus's room....

And opened it.
