"T-twenty-seven? Let go, something's wrong.. Is something controlling you? Are you there?"

"Stop your pathetic flailing, you are ours now. Prepare to be absorbed."

"Twenty-seven!" Twenty tried to pull harder, however, she had grabbed his injured arm, even twisting to get away hurt immensely, "Twenty-seven stop! You're hurting me!"

Twenty-seven only dragged him over to his room shutting the door and locking it.

Twenty kicked and thrashed, but she only threw him on the bed, smiling when the darkness tentacles held him still.

"D-darkness? How did you get down here? And let Twenty-seven go!" He tried to break his restraints, "Snap out of it, friend! I know you're in there somewhere! It's Twenty!"

Twenty-seven blinked a couple times, holding her head.

"GOooO AWwWaYy! ThIs Is MY MiNd!"

"Twenty-seven, you can do this! Fight it!"

The door was then opened, Twenty-eight barging in.

"Twenty? What's going in in here?"

"Twenty-seven needs help! You have to leave, it's not safe!" He struggled to tear the darkness straps off of his arms and legs, "Go get help!"

"You blind insolent fool! How did you get past the lock?" Twenty-seven screeched, "You should've known you'd be no match for me!"

Twenty-eight, looking around in fear, backed away into the door, "Help! We need help! It's an emergen-"

She was then taken and thrown at the wall, landing on the dresser and tumbling onto the floor.

"You're going to pay for this!"

"Twenty-eight!" Twenty panicked, slipping his injured arm out, "Get out of here!"

"Silence! I will not be interrupted!"

The tango dancer tried to pry the new tentacle that covered his mouth off, reaching for anything to help him escape.

Twenty-seven, pleased with this, picked Twenty-eight up, smiling when she saw the look of pure terror in her sightless eyes.

"T-twenty-seven? Remember me? It's Twenty-eight.. your friend.."

"I have no friends. Your attempts are futile."

"No they're not. I know she's somewhere, I know she doesn't wanna hurt me. Please, break free Twenty-seven, I need you."

Twenty-eight felt a drop of water.

"It's okay, I'm not mad at you, it's not your fault. But I need a cube, I need a super-cube."

"Quit your worthless blathering! It has no effect! I hold your friend under my control!"

"I beg to differ, Twenty-seven wouldn't let anyone hurt me. We spend too much time together for her to give up on me now. She's my best friend, and I'll die believing it."

Twenty-seven dropped her and started smashing herself against things, trying to shake the hold of the evil.

"You can do this Twenty-seven! I'm here! I know you can!" Twenty-eight started walking forwards, she didn't know where she was going, but nothing was going to stop her from reaching her friend, "You're strong! You're kind! And you're brave! You can do this!"

"I'm....Twenty-..seven.. and I... won't.. let....you. control me anymore!"

All of the darkness in the room faded as Twenty-seven floated, elated that she was in control again.

"Twenty-eight! Oh no! What have I done? Are you alright?"

Twenty-seven hugged her.

"Yeah, I'm fine."

"How 'bout you Twenty?"

Twenty, who was looking a bit worse for wear, sat up and edged off the bed.

"Yes, my arm is a little sore now, but I can assure you I am well." He replied, giving a smile.

The door was then smashed to bits.

"Never fear! Octoblock is here! What's the problem?"

All three of the Twenties facepalmed.

"You were late.."

"I would've eliminated Twenty-eight by now."

"I mean, he's not all the way late.. The darkness got down here somehow." Twenty stepped up the superhero, "It took over Twenty-seven somehow. It shouldn't have been able to even get down here unless someone brought it in."

Eight paled, "Oh no.. Seven!"

"He was saying somethin' about how he was dangerous earlier.."

"Y-you talked to him?"

Twenty-seven nodded to Eight, "I stopped him from running and he told me not to touch him again and left."

Eight gasped, "Hopefully, he hasn't touched anyone else!"

Twenty fainted as Eight left the room, simply unable to stay awake any longer.
