The Start

Prologue

April 1st Monday

Detective Sarah- Detective we have another case, a mother and her two children have gone missing, the local police are still not able to find them and it’s been a few weeks now. I know we usually don’t take light cases like these but it’s something odd about this case, the kidnapping left no trace at all, we may have a mastermind on our hands. 

Detective Mino, Head Detective- That is definitely a good case, where did this take place? Do they have any evidence? Did they recognize patterns or behaviors with this kidnapper? Yea he left no trace of himself but there has to be at least some sort of pattern, look into all of the kidnapping cases within that town and tell me if you recognize a pattern.  

Detective Lora- Done; as you were speaking to Sarah I did some background check on the officers, I found it weird how none of them could find any evidence at all against this kidnapper. It looks like they all put up a vote if they should call us for help. The chief voted no along with some other officers but there was a group of the officers that stood out, they were literally demanding that we don’t come, it says here they were screaming from the top of their lungs for mercy. 

Detective Londyn- Mercy? Were they arrested or at least questioned, they seemed suspicious. But making such an abrupt outburst like that makes it seem like they wanted us to think that it was them to cover up for the person who really kidnapped the mother and her children. 

Detective Lora- I also looked up the history of kidnappings in the town and although when you look nothing catches the eye at first, until you search deeper and you see that two years ago another kidnapping happened but the victims were a completely different choice. This kidnapper chose a mother and children, kidnapping a mother and her children could show that it was personal to the kidnapper. The kidnapper from two years ago kidnapped an eldery man, which also gives me the vibes that he’s kidnapping people due to emotion. Which means he probably knows them and something went down between them. The kidnapper was never caught, and the elderly man was never found. 

Meanwhile

Hope- Mom I have to go to school, I understand you’re nervous and scared that something will happen to me because of what happened to that woman and her kids but you cannot keep me from school, I am  going to college soon so yes I need to go to school and finish off my senior year strong. “I know I know, I just want you to be careful and make sure you’re safe, please just carry this pocket knife with you, and keep your car doors locked when you’re sitting in it at the gas station. Don’t walk anywhere by yourself and no drinking and driving after school, no drugs either.” Mom, I am eighteen years old. I know what not to do and what I can do. I understand you’re worried but I need to make choices and decisions for myself. Crazy things happen all over the world all the time, life still goes on, we cannot live in fear. I have hope that they will be found safely and they’ll be intact. 

“She gets into the car and drives away, she’s on her way to school but first she stops at starbucks. Hope lives in a small town with not many people so for something as big as kidnapping in her town to occur and the police not being able to find out who did it when there’s not a lot of people in the town she understands why her mom is so scared. What her mom doesn’t understand though is that Hope has prepared for these kinds of situations, she wants to be a detective when she graduates so she has been training herself mentally and physically. She takes boxing classes and karate, she’s also on the debate team, her skills in logic are impeccable and she’s the top of her class in everything. 

She took multiple swimming lessons just in case she was in a situation where she needed to swim to save herself. She knows how to shoot any gun that’s put into her hands and she knows how to use a katana. She has ginger hair with orangish looking lips and her skin is dark brown. 

     She has prepared herself for this for a while, the best detective in world is coming to her small town. She didn't have to go to school today but she went anyways. She wanted to get all of her work for the week done, she wants to help out the detectives when they arrive. Hope believes she can help with this case and all of the other cases in the future that the detectives will take. She wants to be one of them and better.   

      At the Airport
              Detective Lora- I am tired of going on planes, we're always traveling, It'd be nice if we could have a vaction for once. Some nice sun would do my pale skin some good. And a drink, I haven't had one of those in so long, after we became detectives our main focus has been on saving people and trying to help out psychos.

               Detective Londyn- A drink would be nice, something strong and warm. I don't know how to describe what kind of drink I'd get if we were on vacation because honestly no drink could erase my mind from the disgusting things we've seen over the years. Everyone thinks being a detective is easy and all about being good with weapons but it's more than that. I just don't know how much more I can take! How many more children lying on the groun dead is it going to take for me to break! Am I heartless? What makes any of us any more different from a murderer, we can sit there and stare at a child lying dead on the floor an entire family even and yet we still get back up and continue pushing. Do you want to know why Lora? it's because we couldn't save those children or those people becaause it's detetctives like you who complain about their job and complain about saving people who can't save themselves. That's probably why my entire family died when I was younger. I wonder if those detectives were having a drink, thr came just in time to save me but they were too late to save my younger sister who was the brightest girl I knew. My mom who was the sweetest person, and my dad who was the most understanding all died because of psychos and detectives who took on the job for the benefits but not to help. I later found out the those detectives were rushing down the highway hoping to make it in time because instead of them being on duty and figuring out cases in their offices which was right by my house, they were at the bar drinking and dancing! Celebrating the lock up of some dude that committed a murder. Every detective should know that crime doesn't stop, it never does, and it's not many of detectives out there so the one who do care need to stay on top of their work day and night   just incase someone needs their help. They need to be a police officer and a detective. I never want anyone to go through what I did. So instead of drinking away my boredem I go to my office and research, I go to the shooting range and brush up on my skills, I go to my boxing classes and I box and every time I hit a target or I punch the punching bag I see that murderer's mask. I research everyday how much work that the detectives who promised me to find the killer put in, and everyday I'm disappointed to see that no progress has been made. So next time Lora instead of complaining think about kids who are in need of a detective, just like the kids that need us now.
