Trudy

I thank the officer that went shopping for me and take the six shopping bags up to Intelligence.

"Delivery for Jay," I say

"I didn't order anything," Jay replies, spinning around in his chair

"Yeah well I'm going to be this girls grandma and I got stuff to get you started," I smirk at him

"Thanks, I'm totally out of my element here," Jay tells me

"Yeah and you can barely take care of yourself, so here you go, and maybe Kim should stay with you tonight to make sure you have everything under control," I say and look at Kim whose turned bright red and looking down

"Okay," Jay speaks and stands up, balancing Addison on his hip

I set the bags on his desk and head back downstairs.

Jay

I walk over to Kim with Addison on my hip.

"I don't have to help you if you don't want me to," She says looking down

"No, come over tonight, I think we could both use some company and help would be nice," I tell her

Addison reaches for Kim and she looks at me for permission. I smile and Kim takes Addison from me.  I watch as she starts playing with the necklace that Kim's wearing. About 2 hours later I decide it's time for a coffee break.

"Alright, I'm going to get everyone coffee, Kim, wanna come with?" I ask

"Yeah, sure," She replies and hands me Addison

I grab my jacket and we head out to my truck. I get Addison strapped into the new car seat I got her last night with minimal struggle. I park my truck as close to the coffee shop as I can and we all get out. We start to walk to the coffee shop, me carrying Addison when I notice Kim shivering. I gently slip my jacket off and wrap it around her shoulders.

"You're going to get cold," She tells me

"Says the woman who was already shivering, call it an act of kindness," I smile at her

Kim chuckles and puts her arms through the sleeves of my jacket.

"Daddy I'm tired," Addison whines

"I know princess just a little while longer and then you can take a nap," I tell her and rub her back

Addison lays her head on my shoulder and closes her eyes. Kim holds the coffee shop door open for me.

"Thanks," I say

"No problem," She replies

Kim orders everyone's favorite and Addy a small hot chocolate and we head back to work.
