"I could never forget the man who gave me my wings back." You replied. Richie smiled. This time the smile was real.
"Go... Before I get even mushier." He said, pulling away and wiping his tears. You laughed.
"See ya later Richie." You said waving as a final goodbye.

Your bare feet hit the ground lightly, landing on what you called home. The golden gates to the silver city. You held your breath as you pushed the doors open. The journey to your father's orchard was a short one. And once you saw him sitting with the lambs, you felt a surge of joy course through your body.
"Father!" You shouted. He lifted his head and upon seeing your face, a soft smile grew. He stood up and swiftly walked towards you, arms opened for a gracious hug.
"My dearest child," He whispered as you gladly fell into his arms.
"I've missed you." You said, squeezing him tighter. He smiled and rubbed your back.
"I missed you too." He replied. You pulled away, tears streaming down your cheeks.
"Child, why do you weep?" He asked, wiping your face with his gentle thumps.
"I'm sorry father. I cast myself out of heaven because I felt unworthy. I've done plenty of bad things and I don't know why you allow me back home." You said. God's smile never wavered and neither did his gentle hand.
"Hush now my child, all is forgiven. Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord." He said. You smiled.
"I do have an inquiry though." He said. You raised your eyebrows.
"And whatever could I tell you that you don't already know?" You asked. He laughed quietly, the sound a sweet reminder of his lighthearted side.
"Angel's whose wings break seldom come back home. How did you manage to heal and be reborn?" He asked. You closed your eyes. You were sure this moment would come but you didn't think it would come so fast.
"Forgive me, father, for I have sinned. It was a mortal who helped me to heal my wings. But if you shall punish anyone, you should punish me. He deserves to come to the heavens and live in eternal bliss after death. If you shall cast anyone out, it should be me." You said, hanging your head low.
"Oh, sweet child. Why must you always assume the worst? The man helped heal your wings and brought me home one of my most cherished angels. Why would I ever punish either of you?" He replied.
"So... You aren't angry that I told a mortal?" You asked. He smiled, a twinkle in his eye.
"You didn't tell a mortal sweet child. However, these are things you should find out yourself." He replied.
"I don't understand." You said.
"Child, what reason did you have to return home?" He asked. You thought for a second.
"Well... There's you. And my siblings." You replied.
"And what compels you to stay on earth?" He asked. You looked up, surprised at his words.
"I don't... There's no..."
"I see all my child. I know what you're feeling even if you think I don't. You simply must admit it to yourself now."
"I... I want to stay on earth for Richie. I want to get married and grow old with him. I want to be blessed with children and a wonderful life with him. I'm sorry father. I've fallen in love." You whispered.
"You should never apologize for love. Love is a beautiful thing in which two people share. Love should be cherished. Love should be kept safe. Love is blind and knows no pain and knows only forgiveness. You do not choose who you love, nor if you love. Embrace it, for you are lucky to have fallen in love and have it equally returned." He said. You stared into your father's eyes. They were kind and gentle. You knew what he was saying. You knew what you had to do.
"Thank you father, I don't know what I would do without you." You said, wrapping your arms around him for one final hug.

Your heart was beating a mile a minute as you stood outside the door of Richie's condo. You could hear the footsteps on the other side, each one seeming to boom louder than the last. You watched as the doorknob turned, and suddenly, you saw his face. A face you had unknowingly grown to love so much.
"When I said visit, I didn't mean this soon." He said, surprised to see you. You said nothing, instead, simply hugging him as tightly as you could. He was taken aback, both literally and figuratively. Yet still, a smile made its way onto his face.
"Is everything alright? Did our Lord and savior himself turn his back on you? I'll raise hell if you tell me he did." Richie said, only half-joking. You laughed as you pulled away.
"Richie... Richie, I came back because I'm in love with you." You said. Richie's smile dropped in an instant.
"W-What?" He asked, stepping away. Your smile followed in suit.
"What do you mean what? Don't act like it's one-sided." You said, following him into his condo, making sure to shut the door behind you. Richie ran his fingers through his hair.
"No... This can't be happening." He whispered.
"Richie, what's wrong? Talk to me." You said, reaching for his arm. He jerked his body away from you as if you had burned his skin.
"No (Y/n)! You can't be in love with me. Just... Just go back to heaven and forget about me." He said.
"What? Richie no. What aren't you telling me?" You asked.
"Please... Just go home. It's better for both of us this way."
"No Richie. You know that's not true. I love you and you love me. You know that. Why are you fighting it?" You asked.
"Because (Y/n)!" He yelled, turning towards you so his teary eyes were visible. But suddenly that wasn't the only visible thing. Black horns were spouting from his black curls. His face was turning red and claws were growing from his fingernails.
"Because I am a demon. I am a demon and you are an angel. I come from the depths of hell and you come from the heavens above. We are not meant to love, especially not each other. So like I said before, go home and forget about me." He said, his voice getting progressively quieter. You began crying. You had just found out Richie was a demon and yet still, your love for him didn't change.
"Love is a beautiful thing in which two people share. Love should be cherished. Love should be kept safe. Love is blind and knows no pain and knows only forgiveness. You do not choose who you love, nor if you love. I must embrace it, for I am lucky to have fallen in love and have it equally returned. I do not need my father's approval. I do not need my brother's approval. All I need is you and the love we share and I know that that is all you need too." You whispered. He lifted his head, his back turned towards you.
"But can you love a demon?" He asked. You walked to his side, grabbing his hand in yours.
"Yes, for you are the demon who fixed my wings."
As the words fell from your mouth, you could feel his claws retract. And as you listened to his quiet cries, you knew your father was right. Love knows no pain. Love only knows forgiveness.
