"Come on angel face, it's time for you to go home." He said, grabbing your things and helping you out of your chair. You glared at him.

"Wait... who told you?" You asked quietly. He shook his head.

"You are all over the place. Come on." He replied. Your eyebrows furrowed as he helped you stumble through the doors.

Time passed and you began to get closer to Richie. He took you home that one night you were drunk and he became a best friend to you. He was funny and caring and just an amazing person in general. Sure, he could be cocky and reckless at times, but it made him balanced, and you need balance to survive.

You still sometimes yearned for your life back in heaven, but you still felt like you had no place there. Your life on earth seemed to only prove that fact too. You doubted any respectable angel got drunk, stole, or did any of the things you did. But life away from heaven wasn't completely bad. You did have Richie, after all.

Richie made you feel amazing. He made you feel like you had a place in the world. Like you mattered. He made you laugh when you were sad and gave you hugs when you felt lonely. He was a companion you never asked for but were ever so grateful to have found. To sum it up, he was godsent. Of course, not literally. You felt particularly in the dumps tonight, so you decided to call him. He answered right away, which wasn't surprising at all.

"Hey there angel face, what's the 410?" He asked. You laughed and let your cheeks go red. You still had yet to catch up to the earth lingo he used, but all bets were off when he called you angel face.

"Nothing just... kinda lonely. Think you could give a friend some company?" You asked. It was like you could hear him smile.

"I'm already grabbing my keys." He replied. Your smile grew.

"Thanks. I'll see you when you get here." You said.

"Bye." He replied before you heard the click from the line.

It only took Richie 10 minutes to get to your apartment. And as soon as he walked through the door, you squeezed him tight in a hug.

"Thank God you're here. I've had such an atrocious week, you don't even know."

And so Richie sat on the couch, cradling a glass of wine as you vented about the stressful week you had. You talked about your boss threatening to lower your payments, you talked about the constant catcalls you endured on the streets, and you talked about everything wrong in your life. And, yes it may sound bad, but Richie loved hearing you vent. You looked fiery and angry but he adored it because he adored you.

"And... And I miss home." You whispered. Richie raised his eyebrows.

"What do you mean?" He asked. You pulled your knees to your chest.

"I... I left home and came to New York. I was afraid I was only disappointing my father by being there. But I miss it. You know? It's one of those things you feel like you don't deserve but still desire so much. I don't know..." You trailed off. Richie sighed and set his glass of wine on the table.

"Yeah, I... I think I know exactly how you feel," Richie replied. You turned your head, catching his faraway glance as if he was remembering a life he hadn't lived in years.

"Richie... I haven't been completely honest with you. I think you should know something about me..." You said. He gave you a quizzical look. You had no idea why you were doing this. In fact, it seemed like it was one of the most stupid ideas you've ever had, but you were compelled to keep going.

"I'm... I'm an angel." You said. He smiled.

"Well of course. I already knew that." He replied.

"No Richie. I'm actually an angel. Descended to earth from heaven because I feel unworthy. Unworthy to hold the sacred title of Angel. Unworthy of my wings." You said. Richie's face paled.
