A New Dawn

Prolouge

                                              Soft'fur uncurled her tail revealing the various squirming forms Crow'pool purred glad the kits were ok. Soft'fur knew it would be slightly lonely as the other queens had returned to their warrior duties so she was the only queen in the nursery. She looked at the medicine cat Crow'pool and asked ' When will they open their eyes ? ' she was reasonably tired and Crow'pool simply responded ' In a few sunrises. ' Soft'fur nodded and re curled her tail around the kits and laid her head down she soon fell asleep. Crow'pool looked at Birch'paw who had gathered the herbs needed. ( borage, poppy seeds, etc. ) ' Thank you Birch'paw we will have to wait until she wakes up though. ' Crow'pool calmly said her ear flicking towards a stick snapping and saw the father of the new kits Red'pelt. He said nothing as he looked into the den and sighed when he saw they were ok. His tail flicked and he padded off still not speaking. Crow'pool and Birch'paw looked at each other they both sighed and padded back to the medicine cat den after checking on Soft'fur one last time. Soft'fur's eyes fluttered open and looked at the kits who were squirming Crow'pool sat some herbs infront of her stating ' You need to eat these Soft'fur.' Soft'fur complied and ate all the herbs infront of her.

Soft'fur purred watching the kits tumble around she had ended up naming them Black'kit Frost'kit and Poppy'kit. Black'kit stayed to herself more than the other two who played together often. The two who were playing bumped into Black'kit which annoyed her obviously so she swatted at her siblings and ended up playing with them Soft'fur sighed knowing she would have to return to warrior duties in two moons and then her kits would be apprentices it was exciting but it was all a blur it seemed to go by too fast. Her newest friend Black'fur a former queen sat beside her trilling ' oh your kits are the cutest things! ' Soft'fur giggled and looked at her kits lovingly until she heard Broken'star bring up the discourse Red'fur and him had long long time ago she sighed looking to Black'fur. Both were frowning but shook it off to look at the kits playing they were now talking about some of the apprentices, laughing.
