Questions (Chapter 49)

Reem: Thank you. 

Jai: Tu humesha aise unke saamne awkwardly behave nahi kar sakti hai Reem. Jab tak hum sabko sach nahi batate, tujhe thoda control karna hoga khudko. ( You can't behave so awkwardly in front of them always Reem. Till the time we tell everyone the truth you have to control yourself.)

Reem: Pata hai. Par pehle Faisu bhai ne maa ke saamne Reem bol diya, aur phir papa mujhe unhe uncle bulane ko bol rahe the, toh ikdam se dimaag mein kuch nahi aaya. ( I know. But first Faisu bhai said Reem in front of maa and then papa asked me to call him uncle, so nothing came in my mind at the time.)

Jai: Hmm. Waise ek cheez achi hai, aunty ko tu yaad hai. ( Hmm. But one thing is good, aunty remembers you.)

Reem: Ha, maine dekha maa ki aankho mein Reem naam sunte hi aansu aa gaye. Par maa ko agar mai yaad hu, toh unhone problems khatam hone ke baad mujhe dhoonda kyu nahi? Itni bhi dur nahi thi mai unse. Na unhone mom dad ko poocha mere baare mein. ( Yes, I saw tears in her eyes when she heard the name Reem. But if maa remembers me, why didn't she search for me after the problems ended? I wasn't so far also from her. Nor did she ask mom dad about me.)

Jai: Ho sakta hai unhone tujhe dhoonda na ho yeh sochkar ki tu apni nayi family se pyaar karne lagi hai, aur unke saath hi rehna chahti hai. Aur tere mom dad se na poocha ho kyunki wo guilty ho apni choti bachi ko chodne ke liye. Aur unhe iska bhi dar hoga ki sabko pata chala ki unhone apni beti ki baat chupayi hai toh woh kaise react karenge. ( Maybe she didn't search for you thinking you must have started loving your new family, and would want to live with them only. And maybe she didn't ask your mom dad as she was guilty of leaving her young daughter. And she must scared of everyone's reaction also on knowing that she hid her daughter.)

Reem: Mujhe yeh sab pata hai, aur yeh bhi ki woh kitna bura feel karti hai jab bhi Sid bhai aur Faisu bhai bolte the ki kaash unki behen hoti. Par phir bhi bura lagta hai. Mere maa aur papa hai wo, koyi strangers nahi jo mujhe apni beti ki tarah treat karte ho. ( I know all this, and also that how bad she feels when Sid bhai and Faisu bhai wish that they had a sister. But still I feel bad. They are my parents, not some strangers who treat me like their daughter.) 

Jai: Mai teri woh feeling nahi samajh sakta hu kyunki maine kabhi woh feel nahi kiya, par agar mere saath aisa hota, toh mai sehen nahi kar pata. Ya toh sabse dur chala jata, ya phir promise tod deta. Tu is sabke through nikal rahi hai kyunki tu strong hai. Aur kamzor padi, toh mai tere saath hu. Itna dur aane ke baad peeche mat mudna. ( I can't understand how you feel as I never felt the same, but if all this would have happened with me, I wouldn't have been able to get through it. I would have either gone far from everyone or broken the promise. You are able to get through all this because you are strong. And if you ever fall weak, I am there with you. Don't look back after coming so far.)

Reem nodded, and Jai pulled her into a hug. Though everyone kept saying these two always keep secrets, only these 2 knew how difficult it is to keep a secret, especially the ones like these. Due to hugging, Reem was sitting almost on Jai. When the door got opened, Jai got startled, falling on the bed, with Reem on top of him, causing their foreheads to bump. 

Jaireem: Ahhh. 

They sat up rubbing their foreheads and looked towards the door to see Sid and Fais there. 

Sid: Reem, tu yaha? Aur dono gir kaise gaye?  ( Reem, you here? And how did you both fall?)

Reem: Hum kuch baat kar rahe the, aur suddenly darwaza khula, toh startle hokar gir gaye. ( We were just talking about something, and suddenly the door opened, so we got startled and fell down.)

Fais: Sirf baat kar rahe the toh side by side baithe hoge na, tu Jai ke upar kaise giri? ( If you were talking you must be sitting side by side, how did you fall on Jai?)
