Mortals are not the only ones who exist in their realm. Whether they realize it or not, Divine beings have lived along side them for hundreds of thousands of years. They have granted miracles, blessed, and have even given mortals Divine power to help sustain their world's order.
They maintain and regulate the natural order of things, and in return for this great work, groups of mortal beings gather together to praise the Divine ones for their blessings.
Though there's not always peace on the mortal plane. The beings of that realm constantly wage conflicts against each other, calling upon the Divine beings to aid them in their endeavors. And when the mortals aren't fighting, it is the immortals that are.
Great conflicts between the Divine ones happen on such a scale that they shake the skies themselves. Causing great consequences for those who can only watch.
How do mortals live in such a world? Where great power is held over them every day of their lives?
How do the Divine ones keep the balance in such chaotic realms? With grudges and misdeeds held for far longer than any mortal could comprehend?
