"Yes... Why would I ask if I wasn't serious?" I say.
Toko becomes silent again and I kneel down to begin picking up the shards of my glass that I had dropped only minutes earlier. Toko then bent down and began helping me pick up the glass pieces. Once they're all picked up, we throw them in the garbage and stand back up.
"Wh-What are we g-going to d-do?" Toko asks me.
"Huh?" I say, confused.
"Y-You said you wanted t-to hang out with m-me!" Toko exclaims.
I facepalm. "Right." I mutter.
I then look at her. "Maybe we could read together in the library?" I suggest.
She hesitantly nods. "O-Okay." She says.
So we both leave the kitchen and dining room and make our way up the stairs to the second floor. Once we reached the library doors, we entered and walked past Byakuya, who was there to no surprise, and went to another table behind a bookshelf.
We sat down across from each other and just...sat there, in an awkward silence. Toko seemed to be fiddling with her thumbs and I looked around, trying to find something to talk with her about, the awkward tension was killing me.
"So, uh... What's your favourite book genre?" I asked.
I finally found something to say to break the awkward tension! Yes!
(Y/N): 1
Awkward Tension: 0
"I-I guess it would h-have to be r-romance..." She trailed off a bit at the end.
"Oh, okay." I say.
I didn't really know what I said wrong, but Toko seemed agitated by my words and glared harshly at me. Jeez, if looks could kill I would already be buried six feet underground.
"What's wrong...?" I asked, my words came out sounding unsure.
"Wh-Why did you say "Oh, okay." L-Like that?! Y-You probably th-think that I-I'm a t-total weirdo for l-liking romance, d-don't you?!" She shouts.
I was a little surprised by her sudden outburst and blinked a couple of times as she continued to glare at me.
"I didn't mean it to be rude, I swear! I just...didn't know how else to respond." I tell her, trying to calm her down.
It kinda worked cause she stopped downright shooting daggers at me with her eyes, but she still held a look of...I don't know...distaste? Yeah, I think that's the word for it.
"Look, I'm sorry Toko. I didn't mean to offend you in anyway." I apologize.
She scoffs. "W-Well, I g-guess you're fine. Y-Your a little l-less a-annoying than the o-others here... B-But that doesn't m-mean that we're suddenly b-best friends, alright?!"
"Okay, okay." I say.
It was just then that I noticed it was pretty dusty in here. I swiped a bit off of the table and Toko accidentally inhaled it through her nose. She tjen stood up and dashed out of the library, covering her nose.
"I'm sorry..." I said to myself.
It's not like she could've heard me, she was probably long gone to her bedroom. I inhaled sharply and inhaled some dust too, which caused me to sneeze.
"Bless me." I mumbled to myself.
"That was pretty weird though. Why did she suddenly run off when she was about to sneeze? Maybe she has an ugly sneeze?" I wondered.
