Hour Zero

Chapter Two

As Fenton, Ariel, and Lonnie walked in to the Mcduck Manor, Ariel headed straight to the triplets and Webby to talk to them what's been going on as Fenton and Lonnie went straight to Scrooge's office.

"Well let's go let Mr. Mcduck know what we talked about," Lonnie said breaking the silence between them.

"Lonnie, is there something bothering you?" Fenton asked with consider in his tone.

"No I'm okay, I just have so much to worry about, ever since this whole F.O.W.L. problem, it's getting kinda hard to lie to everyone that is worried for me." Lonnie replied as they get to the door to Scrooge's office.

"Well I'm here for you if you need anything." Fenton added with a smile and Lonnie smiled back.

"Thanks Fenton, let's go ahead and talk to Scrooge about what happened tonight," Lonnie knocked on the door as they both heard the okay to enter.

"Ah, good to you both made it back here safely, did you bring back what went missing," Scrooge asked as Fenton went to go give it to him.

"Yeah we did." Fenton and Lonnie just stood by the doorway as Duckworth went to going put the artifact in Scrooge's other money bin.

"Well that is all for you Mr. Fenton, I'd like to speak Dr. Vanderbeaks alone," Scrooge said as Fenton walked out of his office as Lonnie went over and sat in the chair across from him. "Are there any updates on the progress that I've asked you and Gyro to do?" He asked and Lonnie shook her head no.

"No not yet Sir, I've have been preoccupied with other matters but tomorrow I'll continue the project." Lonnie said as Scrooge smiled

"Well thank you for all your help and please keep me updated with what you discover.. I've heard now that F.O.W.L. are after your crystals now too since they are magical artifacts as well." Scrooge added as Lonnie nodded her head.

"Yeah, no need to worry, i wouldn't never give them up so easily," Lonnie added with a small smile. "Is there anything else you need to discuss while I'm here?" Lonnie asked as Scrooge shook his head no.

"No, your free to go, Doctor." Scrooge replied as Lonnie stood up and headed out the door to say goodbye to the others before she headed back home.

"Well I see you all in the morning, I'm going back to work, if we're ever going to stop F.O.W.L. for good then I need to make progress with this new project." Lonnie said as Ariel jumped up and walked up to Lonnie.

"Can I tag along since you'll be coming over to Money Bin tomorrow?" Ariel asked as Lonnie looked over at Fenton to see if he was okay if it.

"Yeah of course I don't mind but make sure she's stays with you this whole time." Fenton said and Lonnie laughed and so did Fenton.

"Have you met Ariel, she is extremely spontaneous that she'll end up wandering off. But I'll try my best," Lonnie said as she waited for Ariel.

"Well then that settles it, see you in the morning, dad." Ariel said running ahead of Lonnie. "Hurry up, mo... Lonnie!" Ariel quickly correct before she could say Mom, Lonnie catched up to Ariel and they were both outside walking back to VanderTech.

"So how come you never drive or uses your powers or suit to take you places?" Ariel asked because she always saw Lonnie walking to the places she needed to go.

"I always loved walking to get to the places, it's just so peaceful for me, like it's my escape aside from being in the forest or beach. Also When we're not fighting the bad guys." Lonnie said as Ariel smiled because she also loves being around the beach it was also very relaxing for her.

"I've always wanted to ask but where did you get your powers," Ariel asked and Lonnie had to think about how answer that question.

"Well... I was in the woods at a vacation home and I had to escape from my father, so I was just walking then saw a purple and blue light coming from deeper into the woods, so when I finally found it, I saw six crystals three purple and three blue. I thought they were pretty and I took them back home with me, but there was also books buried too so I took them too. After that I wanted to make them into a necklace and how I'm wearing it now. After all that I started to feel a burning sensation around my neck tried taking them off but it wouldn't let me. Then look at the books and it said each of them are very powerful and she be kept out of the hands who would want to uses their powers to harm others which is why I only use my magic as the only last resort for our missions."

Ariel was just so into the story that she didn't even realize they had got back to the building. Lonnie stopped her from going through the front door instead she and her both headed towards the back Lonnie looked around to see if any eyes were watching her and from her phone she disabled the cameras. So she looked at her wristband and shot a small grabbing hook to the roof and grabbed Ariel as it rilled them up to the platform of the roof.

"So you have to sneak into your own company's building... That's really sus," Ariel said and Lonnie laughed.

"Well I did hire an "corporate saboteur" as my head of security which I still don't think that was a real job," Lonnie added as Ariel laughed a bit. "Now if he asks where we were, what do we tell him?"

"We were at the Mcduck Manor the whole time" Ariel finish her sentences as Lonnie nodded and smiled.

"Good girl," Lonnie said as she scanned her badge to unlock the door and let Ariel walk in first as she walked in she reactivated the cameras from her phone.
