... *silence from my end*

Start from the beginning

The elevator stopped and he stepped out, a spring in his step as he headed down to the lab. He turned a corner and nearly bumped into an African American and his Romanian friend. "Sorry!" Peter said, backing up.

The African American quirked an eyebrow. "And who are you?"

Oh my gosh it's the Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Heh, sounds like a TV show name. "I'm Peter. Peter Parker." He held out his hand for Sam to shake. "I'm Mr Stark's new intern."

"I see. I'm the Falcon, and this is Bucky."

"Wow, love how you announce yourself with your superhero name and just say "Bucky" for me." The Winter Soldier shook the boy's hand, glaring at Sam. "It's nice to meet you."

"You too."

Peter nodded and ducked down to the lab, where Tony was waiting for him. "Hey kid, how're you doing?"

"I'm not to shabby." Peter got to work, helping the man with his latest project. "So... about Spidey..."

Tony looked up, giving Peter his full attention. "Yes?"

"I was thinking... the best way to take someone down is to use their weaknesses against them, right?"

"Right."

"And that's exactly what Spidey's been doing: using your weaknesses against you."

"... continue."

"So what we need to do is to 1. Find his weakness, if he has any and 2. Protect yours." Peter finished what he was saying, giving Tony a hopeful look. Stark nodded, agreeing.

"You're right." He pulled up a hologram of the different Avengers, the holographic figures standing in a circle around them. "I'm gonna need your ideas. First up, Steve."

They worked on the different Avenger's suits, improving and fixing their designs. Peter managed to discreetly add in a couple of dud bullets for Bucky and loosened the straps on Steve's shield, all while not-so-discreetly fanboying over the fact that he was helping "improve" the freaking Avengers' weaponry. Eventually Tony sunk down into his chair, sipping on his 9th mug of coffee for the day.

"Hey FRI," he said, inviting Peter to sit on the stool next to him with a wave of his hand, "pull up Spidey's route for the past 2 weeks."

FRIDAY obliged, pulling up 14 various maps of Manhattan, Queens and Brooklyn, each with a random, squiggly line looping in circles. It appeared random, because it was. Spidey had no particular route, just swinging to wherever he was needed. There were a few spots he had managed to hit at the same time for several nights, for some odd reason. "It looks like he stops at the bank on 21st fairly frequently," Peter said. "Around 10:20pm, so maybe that's part of his stop?"

Tony nodded, his brows furrowed. "Put the maps over each other." FRIDAY did so and as they appeared on top of each other, a vague pattern stretching from Queens, across to Manhattan then down to Brooklyn appeared, with several key locations popping up. "Give us an estimated route." Over the top of the yellow squiggles came a blue one: the estimated route. Tony nodded, making a note of the times the webslinger would reach certain locations. Peter did the same mentally, already maping out which way he would not be patrolling for a while.

'Great," Tony said, rising from his chair with the now empty mug, "I'm tuckered out from working, so how does pizza sound?"

"Did you say pizza!?"

The next afternoon, Peter ran down to the library after school to work on the encyclopedia. He had managed to get a lot of useful information from yesterday and he was eager to jot it down quickly before he forgot. After all, the more you write something, the more you remember it, right?

"Hey loser."

Peter looked up to see MJ standing there with a stack of books in her arms. She gave him a small smile from behind her fringe.

"Hey MJ."

"What are you working on?" She came and sat down next to him, dropping the books on the table.

"Your encyclopedia idea. I got a lot of info from my internship yesterday, so I wanted to get it down before I forget."

"Nice." She sat there quietly, skimming through her books while Peter wrote, occasionally giving him tips on how he could use the weakness to his advantage. "Ricochet web his ankles and you've got him out for a while, you also loosened the straps on his shield so you can get that off him with a nice tug.

Peter nodded. writing what she was saying down. This felt right, her leaning over his shoulder, their arms brushing as she whispered something into his ear. The way her intelligent brown eyes skimmed the page, seeing things where he didn't. A sudden impulse hit him and the words bubbled over his lips, faster than he could catch them. "DoYouWannaGoOutWithMe?" he blurted. MJ blinked, trying to decode the word vomit.

"What? Not all of us have brains that work at several hundred miles per hour."

"Uh- do you... wanna go out with.. me? Like, just the two of us? No Ned, just..." he trailed off, giving her and awkward grimace. To his surprise, she blushed, burying her face in her book. He knew it; of course she wasn't interested. Why would she be interested in him? He was just some geeky nerd and she was awesome-

"Yes."

Peter blinked rapidly. "Wait what-"

"Yes. I would like to go out with you. Friday afternoon, 5 o'clock, outside Candy Lane Donut Shop. Surprise me."

Wow. MJ was shy for once. Peter gave her a smile. "Yeah. Yeah, that sounds great. I'll see you... tomorrow?"

"Huh? Oh yeah, school's an thing, right." She gave him a small smile and scooped her books up hurriedly, walking out the doors. Peter whooped, slapping a hand over his mouth when he realised he was still in the library. He scooped up his notebook, muttering a string of apologies to the librarian as he left and rushed back home to his apartment.

May jumped as he slammed open the door. "GUESS WHO'S GOT A DATE!?"

"...EEEEEEEEEEEEE!"
