7th Grade

"Okay meet me at the front when school is over. Mom is taking us to get pizza so don't be late," I tell Nathaniel as I'm about to enter the library. He's my best friend and cousin, sort of. Our Mom's have been best friends since high school and ever since we were little we have been super close.

Nathaniel is a year older than me, so he's in eighth grade while I'm in seventh. He's really the only person I talk to in school, even though we don't have any classes together we still manage to talk in the hallways.

"You aren't going to lunch today?" He asks.

"Nate you know I never go to lunch. Now if you keep talking to me you're going to miss lunch now go. I'll see you after school." I push him away from the library doors and he laughs.

"Right you're gonna go read about the god's or whatever you read about."

"Greek Mythology Nathaniel." He waves a hand at me and begins to walk towards the cafeteria while I enter the library. I found an interest in Greek Mythology and I have fallen in love with it.

The stories, the meanings behind each person, it's just so beautiful. There's never a day where I'm not reading about it, I love everything about it.

Setting my backpack down on a table, I walk towards the aisle where my favorite books are. My hands skim the spine of the books as I get closer to the end of the aisle. I pick up a book over all of the Gods and begin to read it for what seems like the twentieth time this week.

"My favorite is Hades." I jump at the voice right beside me, I look up to find a boy with dark brown hair. His green eyes pop out and I'm attracted to him. A small smile is on his lips and he nods towards the book. He must be an eighth grader.

"Oh umm, did you want the book? I can get another one," my hand moves towards him but he pushes it back lightly.

"No it's okay. I just usually see you come in and always come to this section so I thought I would come tell you my name."

"I'm Isella." I stick out my hand and he takes it. He squeezes it a bit and his small smile turns into a grin.

"I'm Ezra."

"It's no fair you guys get to go to high school while I'm still in middle school." The last day of summer was spent watching movies and me complaining about staying in middle school.

After meeting Ezra last year, we became a trio. Nathaniel already knew Ezra; they just didn't talk a lot, but now they do.

"It's okay little Isella." Ezra wraps his arm around my shoulder and shakes me. Nathaniel sits to the other side of me raising his eyebrows at me. He knows I somewhat started liking Ezra but I keep telling myself not to.
