Riven was born to two loving parents, who raised him to always follow his dreams. He got to try anything he wanted growing up, soccer, lacrosse, football, even cheerleading for a while. He started dance at age eleven and fell in love with it. He wasn't a bad student, but studies were not his best area. He got by, making C's and B's in his classes. His intelligence was better suited in creative areas.
He began to get bullied and called slurs for showing interest in 'girly' things such as makeup and dance, and was burned and beaten. He dropped out of school at fifteen to take care of both his physical and mental health.
After getting his health to a 'baseline' he could safely function at, he got his GED online and slowly started dance back. He moved out at 19 and got an apartment in Seoul, working under JYP.
Riven occassionally needs to use a wheelchair due to his illnesses, typically after a performance or long practice he will need his wheelchair as his body is too fatigued to manage anything. If he were to not use it- he would faint and have a seizure upon standing. While he can walk, it's not always the best idea, so he takes it day by day.
Most days he's fine on his own if he takes it slow, some days he needs crutches, and others he needs the chair, it all just depends on how his body feels.
After his parents passing, he began to send his sister 50k a year to help cover her moving expenses so she could get back on her feet.
He's very funny, and enjoys sarcasm and dry wit. He adores people who are smarter than him, and likes to learn from others. He's not too serious until he has to work, and he can joke about anything at all.
He's not uptight about his health, and is an open book, he'll answer any questions you have with no judgement.
