You slowly move off of him, searching around for your clothes so you can at least get dressed. He sits there in shock, not fully comprehending what just happened.

It takes him a moment to snap out of his initial shock and now hurried himself to pick up his clothes. After he's dressed he turns to you again.

He power walks over to you and cups your face in his hands before once again kissing your breath away.

'She.. she killed our baby... right where she stood, in the middle of a burning pile of branches... i was so close to giving birth and..' you hiccup yourself way through the sentence until there's nothing left to say.

Steve wraps his arms around you and holds you close to him. He lets you cry it all out, he lets a few tears escape himself.

'She can't break us apart y/n... I know it hurts.. everything hurts and I feel the same but we can't let her get her way again...'

'I'll try...'

'No, we try... together...'

'I love you...' you stutter through the tears.

'I love you too, always and ever...' he promises. 'We will make this work, we will have a family Y/n I promise you... she did not win. We did.'

And there you stood, crying in each other's arms, grieving together instead of apart. That's the difference between him and the other kings. He will do everything together, love, hate, grieve, laugh. He makes sure you do it all together so you don't have to it alone.
