It was quiet at last. This appeared to be one of the most brisk nights of Summer this year, the wind was aggressively shaking the tents and trees were rustling flamboyantly.

The campers seemed to have finally dozed off which should have been a relief, though the silence was deafening.

David and Gwen were sat in the Cabin, She noticed that David was quieter than usual.

He had been staring out of the window ever since the campers fell asleep.

"Hey David, you doing okay?"

He seemed startled by this and then smiled.

"Of course! Why do you ask?"

She sighed and looked back at the TV.

"No reason, you just seemed less irritating for once,"

Silence followed that remark, they sat quietly for a few minutes, he suddenly stood up and walked towards the door.

"I'm gonna head to bed, goodnight Gwen!"

He rushed out of the cabin before she could say anything else.

Mr Campbell had visited the camp that day, for some reason David didn't have the same feeling of admiration towards him which felt odd.

He'd been thinking of how camp was when he was a child, including 'the event' which seemed impossible for him to forget about.

He reminded himself that what had happened when he was a child was totally normal and that he shouldn't even be thinking about it now, it was in the past.

This thought cheered him up and he began marching towards his cabin, forcing a grin, even though nobody would be awake this late.

He flopped onto his bed but found he couldn't sleep, he held his eyes shut figuring that he'd fall asleep if he just kept them closed.

This went on for about 30 minutes, he sighed, opened his eyes and began climbing out of bed.

David left the cabin and trudged towards the lake, he positioned himself on the sand and stared out across the sparkling water.

He felt unhappy. He'd been thinking about what had happened to him as a child all day and he couldn't figure out why it was relevant anymore.

He began to picture it more vividly and a deep wave of pain flooded over him, he then felt nauseous and was sick all over the sand.

Trembling, he stood up and slowly walked back to the cabin.

Climbimg into his bed he suddenly felt worn out and immediately fell asleep.
