"And what about The Protector and Celestia? I understand that they are Time Lords like you but who are they to you?" She finally asked the itching question.
"They are my best friends. We have known each other ever since we were children." He smiled fondly as he remembered the times he had spent with them. But almost instantly he changed the subject. "Also, Grace, if I tell you a secret, you must promise not to tell."
They, however, were interrupted by a shorter, balding man in glasses.
"Oh, Professor Wagg. This is Doctor Bowman. He's from London." Grace went to explain as she noticed the strange look on Wagg's face. "He was just going to share a secret with us." She tried to sound as normal as possible.
"Yes. Er, Professor, is there a chance of a closer look at the clock?" The Doctor asked instead of talking about his secret.
"No!" Professor Wagg shouted, making the Doctor jump. "No, I'm afraid that I am the only person allowed up there." He quickly apologised for startling him but he still refused to let him approach the clock as he showed his ID to the Doctor. That meant he was the only person who would be allowed near it.
"Oh, can't you just bend the rules a little?" The Doctor insisted.
"No." He shook his head.
"Oh, but you see" The Doctor was about to finish his sentence when he was interrupted.
"Grace says you have a big secret. What is it?" Professor Wagg changed the subject. The Doctor took the Professor's shoulder and moved him to the side, a bit away from Grace.
"I'm half human. On my mother's side." He said, making Professor Wagg blink. Then, they started to laugh. Professor Wagg no longer had his ID clipped to his lapel because The Doctor stole it without him noticing.
"Very clever. Happy New Year." with that Professor Wagg left with a strange expression on his face. He couldn't help but wonder if The Doctor was a crazy person.
"Yes, I think you must be." Grace said when they heard another voice:
"No, he isn't." Celestia stepled closer to the pair of them, The Protector was right behind her.
"How did it go?" The Doctor questioned them. "Did you find it?"
"I think he's doubting us." The Protector said cheekily.
"I'm not." The Doctor objected almost immediately.
"Yeah I think you are." Celestia said as she quickly decided to tease him. "Not to worry though we were rather successful." She told him. Then she took something from the pocket of her jacket and showed him the small clock which was in her hand.
"Good, good. Very good and excellent!" The Doctor exclaimed happily. He couldn't hold himself back anymore. So without a second thought, he hugged Celestia. She hugged him back almost immediately. This was the moment when she truly realised how much she missed him. She also wanted to ask him after this if it was okay for her to stay with him for a while so they could talk about their issues. The Protector looked at them contentedly. His sister and his best friend seemed to make up and this was the best news of all day. He was aware that both of them needed each other as this right here was the proof. He only hoped that their friendship grew stronger. whereas Grace looked at them envily. She and the Doctor kissed not long ago. It was him who started the kiss. But now, he didn't see anyone but Celestia. She couldn't help but wonder if the kiss meant something to him at all. The Protector noticed her look at the Time Lords but he decided not to comment on it because he thought it wasn't his place. For him she was like all the other companions The Doctor had, who were always jealous of friendship the Doctor and Celestia shared.
The Doctor and Celestia let go of each other and stared at each other with a soft smile. Her hands were on top of the Doctor's arms and his arms were around Celestia's waist. Grace was looking around the place when she spotted the kid from before and said:
"Look, there's the kid who took your stuff." She said more to the Doctor.
"You see who he's with? Come on." He said and immediately walked off with Celestia's hand in his. The Master, however, spotted them. The four of them ran into a row of security men who were dripping with gunk.
"The Master?" Grace asked. She got worried at the sight in front of her because she also got the Master's gunk in her wrist.
"Yes, unfortunately." The Protector answered.
"You're lucky he only got your wrist." The Doctor said just as one of security men fell backwards, and his gun went off. The Doctor ran quickly to set off a fire alarm but he couldn't let Celestia go she was right beside him.
"Why did you do that?" Grace asked, confused.
"Liven things up. Come on!" With that, all of them took off. They ran outside for their motorbikes.
They drove the motorcycle through the police tape which was placed in front of the Tardis. They broke the tape and parked right in front of the Tardis.
"There she is." The Doctor looked at the Tardis. He couldn't help but smile at the expression on Celestia's face. She was really pleased to see the beautiful ship again.
"Hello." She said with a grin. "I came back and I really missed you." She said as she let go of the Doctor's hand to hug the exterior of The Tardis. She closed her eyes with a content smile. The Tardis buzzed slightly at the affection she was receiving.
"A police box?" Grace asked with a confused expression.
"Yes." Celestia confirmed. The Doctor smiled at the sight in front of him. However, this didn't last long as it suddenly occured to The Doctor that he got everything stolen, including his keys.
"Key." He talked to himself, leaning his head against the exterior of The Tardis door. Grace was about to say something when Celestia interrupted, holding her key in front of The Doctor's face.
"How did you manage to survive without me?" Celestia asked cheekily.
"I couldn't." The Doctor admitted honestly as he took the key from her. "Thank you so much. You're brilliant." He told her sincerely. Then he moved to open the door so they could get inside the beautiful ship. She looked at him for a second thinking that he looked really good in this new incarnation. She shook the thought off because he was her best friend and it wasn't normal to think about him this way. Luckily Grace interrupted her train of thoughts by asking:
"Why a police box?"
"Its cloaking device got stuck on a previous misadventure, but I like it like this. Don't you?" The Doctor asked the Protector and Celestia.
"Of course." The Protector confirmed.
"I love it too." Celestia replied too while still looking at the Doctor. He smiled at her when they all heard a motorcycle policeman hurtled down the alleyway towards them.
"Doctor." Grace warned him as The Doctor opened both doors wide.
"I haven't got any brakes!" The policeman yelled. Then he drove straight into the Tardis. It didn't take them long to hear the sound of a distant skid as the policeman turned around. He drove straight out and away. Time Lords couldn't help but chuckle.
"Oh, my." Grace said as they all entered The Tardis.
