i hung out with them all day. basically ham making some stupid ass remarks, and benny nagging at me.
"coraline your shoes untied" benny says making me look down
"eeeehhh you looked" he teases and i just smack him in the back of the head.
"ow" he rubs his head
"you annoying and deserve that" i mumble
"where the coraline who never spoke? she was nicer to me" he whines and i just laugh at him being an idiot.
it's started getting late so the boys started to walk home, i waited for Benny, Smalls, and Ham. after they were gone we get walking. once again they had their own conversation and i stood back kicking the rocks as i walked. today was fun and that probably the most fun i had in a while.
after a while ham and smalls went home but me and benny still had to walk.
"so did you have fun?" benny ask
"honestly yes i did, it's been a while since i let go and had fun" i smile before looking up at him
"you know what?"he asked
"hnn?"i hum
"your mean" he says and my jaw drops and he just laughs and right before i know it i'm home.
"well i enjoyed your all day criticism but this is my home" i says sarcastically
"uh hey, um you don't have to if you don't want to but, my mom is making a big dinner tonight and i don't know if you have plans bu-"
"yes benny i'll go over" i smile
"just wait for my, imma get change real quick" i say and we walk to my door.
i unlock my door and i told him to follow me, we went up to my room and i immediately went into my closet.
"your rooms really nice" benny says looking around
"yeah it is, i don't sleep in here tho" i say still picking out clothes to wear
"where do you sleep?" he asks
"in my parents room, it more comforting" i smile
i decided on a white crop tank top, with some black sweats. i put on some white nike cortez. i let my hair down and ruffled it so it didn't look weird.
"oh" is all he lets out
"ready?" i ask him and he nods
i grab the keys from my bed and he gets up and we head out. i made sure to lock the door. we walk over to his house and he opens the door and all i get is a whiff of food. that smelt sooo good, it's reminded me of my moms food. we walked into the kitchen where Mrs Rodriguez and bennys older sister was.
"hey mom" benny says and she turns and sees me
"Coraline Mija you came, good day i made a lot of food and your gonna eat a lot of it" she says engulfing me into a hug
"benny brought his girlfriend, see mom i don't get why Micheal can't come over" His sister says making me freeze up
"Celia shut up, coralline isn't my girlfriend, this is our neighbor" benny yells at her
"what's your tone young man, and lia i already told you about that boy, he's no good" Mrs Rodriguez says
"So mija what did you do today" She asks me
"uh well i went to the sandlot with the boys today" i says quietly and nervous
"you got her hanging around those dirty little boys benny?" Celia laughs
"ama" benny says to his mother
"celia enough" Mrs Rodriguez says
sooner or later dinner was ready, Mr Rodriguez had got home and benny brother Miguel came downstairs. this dinner was different, it was hard warming. it filled the empty void in my heart where my loneliness has been for the last few years, this is what is wished i had. this is what u really wanted.
after dinner we all sat talking in the living room. but it was getting pretty late so i decided it was best to go home.
"hey guys um i better get going, it's getting pretty late" i say getting up and hugging all of them.
"um here let me walk you" benny says and i nod we walk out the house.
"benny thankyou for inviting me, i really appreciate it" i says looking down and smiling
"yeah no problem my family loves you" he says
i get home and put some pajamas and went to my parents room and cried. i haven't felt so warm in a long time.
