TS 1: The Promise ~ A SAIRAT TS

Here, Virat hurriedly went towards their room, to talk to her, to stop her. But he himself didn't know what he would do to convince her to stop.

"Sai! Sai! " Virat called her loudly as he saw she's packing her luggage. He went towards her and stopped midway by holding her arm.

"Sai! Listen to me.. Please don't leave me." Virat pleaded as he pulled Sai towards him.

"There's nothing to listen to now…" Sai tried to jerk herself from his hold . "Leave me Mr. Virat Chavan!" Sai said in anger.

The word "Virat Chavan" made Virat shocked, he loosened his grip, from which Sai distangled herself and went back to packing.

Virat, out of shock and despair, couldn't decipher anything. He started taking small steps behind and sat down in the bed with a thud. 

Sai went out with her bag. Aai and Mohit tried to stop her but couldn't. There, Virat in the room broke down feeling the emptiness of the room and his life and Sai broke down feeling the emptiness in her heart..

"Why?" They both thought in unison!

Two days passed. In those two days, Virat tried every possible way to contact Sai. But everytime he called, his phone was cut off. Messages were delivered but not read, he even went to her hostel to get a glimpse of her but Alas! He never got..

It was another day or say evening, when Virat came back from the police station and slumped down in the bed. He kept his hand on his forehead and went over his thoughts about Sai.

"Godu.." Ashwini's call broke Virat's thoughts. 

"Yes Aai." Virat replied as he tried to collect himself.

"May I come inside?" Ashwini asked her son who she couldn't see him in despair.

"Yes, Aai. Why not." Virat hurriedly replied and tried to make himself normal.

Ashiwini came inside the room and sat down near Virat and held him by the shoulder, giving him the much needed support.

As soon as his mother touched him, Virat just broke down in her arms. Ashwini hugged him tightly and let him cry, letting him go off his burden.

"Sshh..Bada...Shh...Godu... Shhh.."Ashwini tried to calm him down. 

After a while, Virat calmed down and let his head rest on his mother's lap.

"Godu..I won't beat around the bush so I am telling you, I knew the truth between you and Patralekha. " Ashwini replied as sternly as she could be while caressing his head. 

"Aai.." Virat sprang up from his position and was a bit shocked knowing the truth.

Ashwini made Virat lay down again and started to tell Virat, "I won't tell how I got to know the truth but yes, I knew the truth before your marriage. But I never knew that you promised something like that to Patralekha. Why Godu? At least tell your mother." 

"Aai.." Virat replied meekly, "Aai I gave that promise to save Jeeva's marriage. I heard and saw how Jeeva was delighted with his marriage and would be the bride. But the day I reached her home with Haldi, I was shocked to see Patralekha. She requested me to call off the marriage, but I... couldn't. I couldn't let go of Jeeva's happiness, I couldn't let go. So at the night of Sangeet, I gave her the promise that I won't let anyone else enter into my heart...I just gave her the promise for Jeeva's happiness." Virat finally told his mother the backdrop of his story ..

"I never knew, the promise would create so much havoc in our life, otherwise I would have not. Now when I look back, it felt like a foolish move done by me to get the happiness for Jeeva...a foolish move, without thinking it's repercussions." Virat, finally bared his heart to his mother.

" Today this promise created havoc in Sai's and my life that I don't know what to do, what to do .." Virat again broke down in his Aai's lap. 

After some time, Aai spoke, "So why are you not telling this to Sai? You know that she's visibly hurt because of the promise thing and that's why she left you. Just go and tell her."

"That's not easy Aai. I don't know what she thinks of me. I don't know what she feels for me. It's so complicated and I don't want to increase the complications. " Virat spoke frustrated.

"Bada..She loves you, that's why she's hurt. She's possessive for you. Why don't you understand? She's not hurt because of the promise you gave but because of the consequence of the promise, she can't fall for you. You go and tell her that the promise doesn't hold any value now, you love her. You will see, my daughter won't stop herself from coming back with you." Ashwini tried to put some determination in her son.

" No Aai. She doesn't! She herself tells me I can't love her! She always tells me she'll leave the house once she's a doctor, and now you're telling me she loves me, and she's possessive for me!" Virat spoke out frustrated.

"Godu…" Ashwini tried to be patient with her son, "Just go and talk with her. I'm 100% sure my daughter loves you. Just go!" Ashwini encouraged Virat.

"If you say so Aai" , Virat got up determined, "Sai Joshi! Be ready to face your feelings." He said grinning while taking the keys of his car and went downstairs.
