*Lexi's point of view*

We walked out of the house, I didn't see Raven's car or anything anywhere.

'Did he walk here?' I thought

It was like he was reading my mind, as soon as the thought crossed my mind, he responded,

'"No, I didn't walk. I called an Uber from the airport." He said

'Oh, that makes sense.' I thought

I just stood there awkwardly while the kid's got in the car.

"Do you want a ride somewhere?" I asked

"I can get an Uber if you would like. I wouldn't want you to be late." Raven said in a cautious voice.

'Why was he being so nice all of a sudden?' I thought to myself

"You won't make us late, and no, you won't be a burden" I said in a hopeful tone

I could see relief wash across his face. It made me happy in some weird way. He walked over to the car, keeping eye contact with me the entire time to make sure it was okay.

"Where do you want to go, but first I have to drop them off at school. Then I can drop you off anywhere." I said

He leaned closer to me and whispered, "If it's okay with you, I was wondering if you would be open to the idea of me moving closer to you and the kid's".

I just froze there

'How could he ask that?' I thought

He saw the horror in my eyes

"Nevermind, sorry I shouldn't of asked you that" He said in a hushed, pained voice

I just sat there waiting for someone to say something

'Why does this have to be so awkward?' I thought to myself

It was like Raven could sense it, and slowly got out of the car, and before I could register what was happening, he closed the door and walked off into the distance, I shook my head.

"I forgot my key's inside, I'll be right back." I said to the kids as I got out of the car

Before I got out of the car I remembered, I locked the door. I can't get back inside the house. I saw Raven walk around the corner.

I ran up to him and said, "This is your chance, find a way to get me to work and the kids to school on time."

He nodded his head, pulled out his phone and called an Uber. The Uber arrived sooner than I thought it would. I waved over the kids, they got out of the car and came over.

"This is our ride for the day," I said to the kids.

They both nodded their heads and got in the car.

'I think she said her name was Mary'. I thought

We arrived at the school shortly, then we headed to work. When we got there, Raven got out with me and the Uber drove off.

"Why did you get out, don't you need to be somewhere like the airport on your way back to your house?" I said with a hint of anger

"That's the thing, I got kicked out." He said.

So many thoughts were racing through my head, I had no clue what to do. I just stared at him awkwardly, you could cut the tension with a knife, so I walked away. He didn't follow me inside. The day passed by, it was time to go pick up the kids. I got to the parking lot, forgetting about what happened this morning. When I looked up from my phone, I saw standing Raven there.

'Did he stand out here all day?' I wondered

He saw me standing there staring at him

"I ordered an Uber for you to get the kids from school, oh, and here's a key to your house, I had a locksmith unlock it," he said in a condescending tone.

He could see the surprise on my face, but he continued to talk.

"I got a hotel for the night, and paid off my house. I have a plane ticket back tomorrow morning" He said while looking me into my eyes with what seemed to be sadness

"Oh." Was all I could muster to say
