Chapter 4: Five Seconds

"What place is this?" I asked confusedly

"This is District 9" Sunwoo said which makes my jaw dropped

I looked around and saw some planes helicopters and even some cars. I also saw a sign that says 'for District 9 residence only'

I later on realized that District 9 has their own airport

"Sunwoo-yah, we need to go. They're waiting for us" Haechan later on suddenly came out of nowhere with a car

I realized that he's going to drive for us

The moment I entered his car I immediately felt his gaze at me from the rear mirror so I looked back and raised my brows at him which makes him laugh

"You're really intimidating" Haechan said and started driving

"And you're annoying" I said without looking at him which makes Sunwoo laugh

"He's going to be your brother Ryujin-ah so be kind to him" Sunwoo said so I gave him a death glare

"Did I ask for your opinion, Kim Sunwoo?" I asked in a serious tone

Both of them remained quiet after that until we reached a big hall. There's a lot of bodyguards outside and they immediately greeted us when they saw us

A maid later on came to me

"Ms. Shin Ryujin?" she asked and I nodded

"You need to get change before you enter the hall so may I ask you to come with us?" she kindly said

I looked at Sunwoo to ask why do I need to get changed

"The founder of District 9 strictly made a law to this hall and one of that is about the proper attire to enter to this hall" he explained

A maid later on came to him to ask him to get change too since he's also wearing simple clothes like me

I followed the maid just like what Sunwoo said. They gave me a dress and asked me to get changed. They asked me to choose what kind of dress I like. I don't usually wear dresses but I chose what I think is more comfortable

It's a simple black long sleeve dress with some button design

After I get changed they immediately style my hair and put some make up on my face. I asked them to do not put much make up on my face. I was irritated the whole time they're doing my hair and make up but I just remained silent because I don't want to be mean to them since they're just doing their job

After a few minutes they finally finished everything. They all looked at me with full amazement

"You really looked like Ms. Ji Eun" one of the make up artist said and made me look into the mirror

I just stared at myself in the mirror boringly

I looked pretty but I can't appreciate myself for some reason

"Thank you for making me look pretty" I smiled to them and bowed before I decided to leave but before I completely left, I overheard their conversation

"They really looked the same but they have different attitude. Ms. Ryujin looks so intimidating but she's obviously kind, unlike Ji Eun"

"Yeah, I agree. She can't even thank us whenever we're doing her hair and makeup"

"They all think she's a goddess but she's a fake. I don't want to work with her again"

I can't believe what I just heard. I used to think that Ji Eun is kind and innocent not just because of her looks but also because of her family. I don't know whether I should believe what I heard or not but I think it's none of my business anymore so I should just probably ignore or forget what I heard
