“So. . . Tell me more about your home” He whispered. His eyes, although surrounded by purples and blues, looked back at you wide with a childlike curiosity and you couldn't help but laugh.

“Well” you began, your voice laced with the heavy accent typical of your people. “She has great, warm valleys and deserts. There's whole cities that are buried into them, ancient as the world itself. Her sands are pleasant and her people are quick and beautiful.” The smile on you face was evident even in your voice. Pleasant was the surprise when you turned to see his face mimicking your happiness with a smile of fascination. You turned to the landscape in front once again “It is a land truly blessed by the Divines. I miss Elsweyr so much. I wish I could leave this all behind and return. It's where I am meant to be.”

“You know” His voice rumbled, his gaze now following yours into the far horizon, a sunset behind the mountains “I miss home too. Back then the weather was much worse than what it is now, yet most of the ruins you see scattered around were still standing as cities, cold and majestic as the lands were. There's people, too, that I know I'm never going to see again because they've been gone for millennia now... So I understand you” He sighed and turned to look at you. It sometimes surprised you how expressive his face was after seeing him hidden behind that mask for so long.

You were stripped away from your thoughts when you felt a hand on top of your head, warm and surprisingly soft. His fingers travelled to your ears, touching them in a tender and gentle manner in which –after the confusion subsided–, you couldn't help but lean into his hand.

He laughed softly, “You are like one of those... Sabercatsnaturally, your eyes narrowed with a questioning and rather angry gaze, “It's pretty”

“This one has nothing to comment about that” you responded, turning your head once again. Although it was mostly to hide your growing grin from him.

You heard him chuckle once again, “If you ever decide to return home, you should take me with you. I'd like to see the... Warm sands and ancient cities” his hand went to rest on top of yours and you felt an overwhelming sense of peace.

Your heart skipped a beat as you smiled, laying your head on his shoulder and squeezing his hand, “Will do...”
