Hey! In today's chapter, I will tell you about gimp's interface, if you don't know what is gimp and

Let's start from the top right corner

Toolbox-we can see that there's a toolbox where all the tools are stored and if by chance you are missing something from the interface or the toolbox you can just go to windows -> dockable dialogs-> then you will get a list of things just tools which you were missing out.

Now let's move down you will find 3 menu tools options menu, undo and redo, and status.

1. Tool option: Here you will get all the options for a particular tool. Here I have selected the move tool so it's showing all the options that this tool has.

2. Undo: I think many of you must be knowing its function, but still let me explain it once if you perform a certain task and do it wrong and now you want to completely destroy the changes which you made you can either go the edit->undo or just click on the undo menu click on the task which you did earlier and that's how you completely do undo and if you want to redo you just have to press on the task which you want to redo.                                                                                        For example, you performed task 2 but did that accidentally so now you want to undo it so just click on task-1

And if you want to redo it just press on a task that will redo the action which you did undo.

3.Device Status: You can check the tool, foreground color, background color, brush, pattern, and gradient assigned to the enabled devices.

Now let's move to the other side of the interface we have a brush menu, pattern, and font list.

Now most of them are self-explanatory words but still, I will explain.

1. brush menu: Here are all the brush presets which you can use

2. pattern: Here you can get all the patterns that you would love to apply. I will tell even tell you how to apply it to your image. In the next part

3. Font list:  Another self-explanatory section, here you can find all font list which is already installed in Gimp.

Now let's move to the bottom left corner of Gimp, Here we have Layers, channels,  and paths.

Layers: The Gimp Layers are a stack of slides. Every layer contains a part of the image. Using layers, we can construct an image having several conceptual parts. The layers are used to manipulate a part of the image without affecting the other part.

Color channels: Color channels apply to the image and not to a specific layer. Basically, three primary colors are necessary to render all the wide range of natural colors. As with other digital software, the GIMP uses Red, Green, and Blue as primary colors.

Paths: This section actually associated with a tool called a path tool. I will tell you about this section when I will tell you about the tools in the next part.

So yeah that's it for today, in the next part I will tell you about the tools so follow to stay tuned.
