As the three of you reached the car, you sat on the other side of Pico, respecting his boundaries and allowing him to barge into your conversation whenever he wished, as you talked to Cherry, who was sitting in the passenger seat up the front.
"We gotta hurry up and settle you in your apartment!" She squealed. "I have a huge day planned for all of us tomorrow, and I think you'll absolutely love it!"

I stared out the window, smirking as I nodded in agreement. Though, I looked at the reflection, staring at Pico for a moment using the window. There seemed to be something about him, you weren't sure what it was though. You knew him of his grumpy behavior from the voice calls, but he's not seeming to be in a bad mood today.

He's probably only actually like this because Keith and Cherry told him to. You thought to yourself, but immediately shook your head. You weren't going to let your disorder bother you now, not when you were in the best mood ever.

At the age of 13 after you switched schools, you were diagnosed with a slight case of bipolar, meaning you generally had a lot of mood swings between happy and downright depressed. During the "accident" at that school, you had gotten brain damage as well, but it only started getting better after you left your parents. Luckily, though, the forgetfulness your head injury gave you wasn't really happening. You wanted to cherish this moment.

"So, me and Keith are DEFINITELY gonna help you move in, of course. Cherry, spoke, before looking at Pico through the mirror. "Pico, would you mind helping too?"

Pico lifted his head to look towards you, as you had noticed him look at you from the reflection of the window, seeming to tense up from his gaze as he then shrugged, looking out at the window. "Eh, sure. Why not. I've got nothing to do anyway."
You sigh, turning to look back at Cherry in the front. "Really! You guys don't have to, I'm fine with doing it on my own, you know. You're already paying me to to stay, at least let me unpack my own stuff."

Cherry shook her head with a smirk as you seemed suspicious of it. "It's best to get it all done now. We have a big day planned tomorrow, you know? It's going to be a Friday, after all."

You seemed curious for a moment. You recalled a moment where Cherry briefly mentioned some sort of gatherings on Friday nights, but of course, it was never explained, nor have you been to one.
"Care to explain?" You question. Before Cherry could answer, Pico did it for her as he looked in your direction.

"Well, basically, every Friday night, a group of people will gather near this area and we have, well, singing battles, you could say." He explained to you. This caught your attention immediately, as you sat up. A group of people, singing or rapping against eachother, sharing the same passion as you? Now that's what you called a paradise.

"So, basically a rap battle." He added, locking eyes with you, making you immediately break the contact out of anxiety. "Usually, it has me, Keith, Cherry and her parents, and these two kids who wear their costumes all the time, but sometimes there's people that come for only a visit." He finished, looking out the window as you hummed in understanding, nodded.
Then you realized what it really was.

You're going to be singing in front of people to decide who the best was, meaning your singing was going to be judged. You loved singing, but you were absolutely terrible at it. You sounded like a dying cat everytime you sung, so you were probably only going to watch the battle for tomorrow.

"Am..am I gonna have to sing?" You asked Cherry, making her giggle. "Oh, Y/N, just don't worry about it! You'll do great." She smiles at you, and you appreciated her support.
"If you entirely don't want to, you can just sit up on the speakers with me! I don't really sing either, I just watch."

Yeah, sitting on the speakers seemed nice to you. You could even cheer on your favorite rapper if you wanted to. That's something that would sound nice.

"That'll be at night, right?" You asked her. "What about in the mean time?"

She simply shrugged, playfully glaring at Pico through the mirror. "Well, I was gonna explain the entire day, but Pico wanted the best part to be explained, I suppose. I was planning a mall trip for me and you while Keith and Pico hung out, you know? Maybe get you some new outfits for the night."

You weren't really too fond of shopping. Actually, there's a lot of things you weren't fond of that Cherry somehow made you enjoy. Shopping usually sucked, but when you were in a call with Cherry, it usually ended up pretty fun. You can only guess how fun shopping would be face to face with her.

"Sure, I guess I'm up for a little shopping spree." You spoke up.
At this moment, Keith had parked the car in front of a pretty cute, but a bit small apartment. You didn't mind, though. It was way bigger than your current one.
"Damn it, Cherry, you weren't lying when you said that this apartment was cute." You laughed, getting out the car so you could grab your things and unpack your boxes of things.

----------

"Bye Cherry!" You called to her, as she left to go home for dinner with Keith. You were pretty much alone now. Well..almost.

Keith had left with Cherry since it was pretty late, and he wanted to drive Cherry home before her dad got mad.
But, for whatever reason, Pico insisted on staying to help you unpack the last few of your things.

As you finished organizing your closet, you saw Pico walk in from the corner of your eye. His hand was near his gun, and it made you pretty nervous.
"That's the last of your things." He spoke out, sighing from the effort. "Just..uh. Rest well, I guess."

You stopped for a moment, before taking a deep breath, turning to look at him. "Hey.. Pico, before you go, could I ask you something?"

He stopped his way at the doorway, turning his head and looking at you. Your locked eyes with him, despite the anxiety it gave you.
"Why'd you stay to help me?"

He simply chuckled, shrugging as he closed his eyes. "I don't usually sleep at this time anyway, my body won't let me. So why not help you until my body wants to sleep, you know?"

You were silent for a moment before you couldn't help but to give a slight smile. "..Hey. You're cool Pico. Thanks for the help."

Pico turned back towards the doorway, hiding his slight smile. "No problem, Y/N. I just want to say though.. fighting you in a rap battle would be interesting to me." He spoke, before he left the room. You could soon hear the front door shut, and couldn't help but to worry for him for a split second. He had to walk home alone in the dark, but he had a gun. He should be fine.

You thought about what he said, growing curious before sighing. You'd think about it in the morning. You were exhausted, but you had to admit, it was pretty difficult to sleep as well. It never was easy, so you might as well get started.

You collapsed onto your bed, plugging in your phone as you curled up in the bed, sighing as you relaxed. Today was a long day. And Cherry was right. It's better to get something done in one day so you can do whatever you want later.
You were lucky to already have such great friends for your three month stay.
You hoped someday you might find someone who loves you for who you are too.

But now, you had to think about tomorrow. You needed a good outfit, a good attitude, and of course, most importantly..
You had to think about how you could funk on a Friday night.
