"Yeah, Quirrell was a great teacher," said Harry loudly, "there was just that minor drawback of him having Lord Voldemort sticking out of the back of his head."

This pronouncement was followed by one of the loudest silences Astra had ever heard. She was mentally banging her head on the table. Then--

"I think another week's detentions would do you some good, Mr. Potter," said Umbridge sleekly.

Of course.

Should she stand up for Harry and get another detention? Stay quiet and annoy Umbitch as much as possible?

She had to do it.

And she had a reason as well.

"But that's a fact!" she spoke up against her better judgment, bracing herself for Umbridge's sickeningly sweet voice and preparing for the pain on her hand that evening.

Hermione looked at her in shock, but something in her face changed. It was almost as if she knew that Astra's heart wasn't in it, that she was purposefully getting in trouble.

Nonetheless, it worked.

"Detention for you too, Miss Black."

Astra was the first out of the door when class ended.

Apparently, Professor Umbridge had thought it necessary to create Educational Decrees.

Stupid rules to enforce power.

Astra and Luna had reported it in the Quibbler, briefly mentioning Umbridge's new power as High Inquisitor as well, but they had been going back and forth on what to do with them.

Luna had to immediately convince Astra that breaking all of them would not do the trick, as much as they both wanted to.

They also both agreed that it would be useless to ignore them; it would get nothing done.

Tossing ideas around, they came to a conclusion:

Bending every single rule in the closest way possible.

Of course, Luna decided to stay out of it and Astra agreed, seeing as it was always good to have someone who wasn't already in Umbridge's bad graces (Luna knew how to keep her mouth shut during classes, and Umbridge didn't care enough about the 'loony' Ravenclaw to think of her as a threat).

They had waited for a while, observing Umbridge closely, seeing what made her angry, how she reacted... which was one of the reasons that Astra had repeatedly chosen to sit in on detentions (no matter how much her hand hurt now).

However, it was the right time now. There would be no waiting. Frankly, Astra was way too impatient to wait any longer anyway.

Plan: Destroy Umbitch

#1: no spell check quills - get pens (muggle thing, sure to piss her off), put on a spell-check spell, sell them

***

It definitely did. Luna had bought the pens, seeing as she wasn't under surveillance, and they had stayed up all night in the Room of Requirement (a place that Astra found very useful for all of her plans) enchanting them with the same spell-check spells that were used on the quills.
