"why can't you read me?", gloria said in her thoughts. she obviously didn't see claire entering. "is she talking about me?", claire asked herself but stopped because gloria continued. "I love you", gloria said. claire was even more confused now. what was this all about?

claire wanted to leave the room again when gloria turned around. she was now facing claire. "oh hi, I didn't see you there", gloria said. "how long have you been here?", she asked, lightly embarrassed. claire wasn't sure if she should tell gloria what she heard. she wasn't even sure if it was about her.

"I came back after jay left", claire finally said. gloria almost whispered: "so, you heard what I said?" claire just nodded. "what or rather whom were you talking about?", claire asked, still confused.
