Rick drives the patrol car out paved country road past houses and fields. He turned on the radio. "Broadcasting on Emergency Channel. Will be approaching Atlanta on highway 85. Anybody reads, please respond." He said into the radio and waited for the response.

"Hello. Hello. Can anyone hear my voice?" Rick said over the C.B. radio. Dale and an a woman was sitting in camp chairs by a fire turns around at the sound of Rick's voice on the C.B. Nearby, Amy dropped the sticks she was carrying and ran over to the CB radio, "Hey. Hello." Amy said into the radio. "Can you hear my voice?" Rick said. "Yes, I can hear you. You're coming through. Over." Dale runs over to Amy and she looked up at him questioningly.

"If anybody reads, please respond." Rick said once again. The rest of the camp heard the CB radio and looked over in the that direction. "Broadcasting on emergency channel. Will be approaching Atlanta on highway 85. If anybody reads, please respond." Rick continued to talk to talk over the radio, not knowing anyone heard him. Dale was now standing next to the CB radio. I followed him and Savannah followed me. Amy kept speaking into the C.B. mike.

"We're just out the city. Damnit. Hello? Hello? He couldn't hear me. I couldn't warn him." Amy said to Dale. "Try to raise him again. Come on, son, you know best how to work this thing." Lori walked over to us while Shane slammed his axe down and took his hat off and knelt down to be level with the CB radio and grabbed the mike. "Hello, Hello. Is the person who called still on the air?" Shane said and waited for a response.

"This is officer Shane Walsh, broadcasting to person unknown. Please respond." Shane said and waited for another reply. Shane put the handle down, "He's gone." He looked at Dale.

"There are others. It's not just us." Lori said catching Shane's attention. "We knew there would be, right? That's why we left the CB on."

"A lot of good, It's been doing." Lori said. "Okay." Shane whispered under his breath. "And I've been saying for a week, we ought to put signs up on 85 to warn people away from the city." Lori said. "Folks got no idea what they're getting into." Amy adds.

"Well, we haven't had time." Shane said getting up off the grass. "I think we need to make time." Lori said. "Yeah, that- that's a luxury we can't afford. We are surviving here. We are day to day." Shane said. "And who the hell would you propose we send?" Dale added.

"I'll go. Give me a vehicle." Lori adds, getting pissed off. "Nobody goes anywhere alone, you know that." Shane said to Lori. "What about Daryl? He goes alone." I add, getting annoyed with Shane. He looks at me, "He's different."

"How is he different?" I asked with a little anger in my voice. "He just prefers to be alone." Dale said. There was silence between everyone. "Yes sir." Lori speaks up and walks off, Carl following her.

"Hey hey hey. Go on, take a seat bud." Shane said. I watched him as he talked with Carl. "You're all right. Go on. You're alright." Shane said to him and walked off, following Lori. I walked next to Carl and sat next to him. After awhile of us talking, he walked off to find his mom.
