Everyone seemed to kind of just drift off into their own conversations as we continued to relax by the fire.
"You know what I could really go for right now?" Jade randomly asked the group.
"What?" Christian responded curiously.
"Ice cream." Jade answered with a begging smile.
"Okay fine, we can go get some ice cream. Anybody else want to come?" Christian asked as he stood up.
"I'll come." Logan said, standing up with Jade.
"Nah just bring me back some vanilla." I stated.
"I'm good." Hunter said.
"Whatever losers. We'll be back in a few." Christian said before they all got in his car a drove away.
After a minute of just sitting in silence, Hunter finally spoke up. "How's your arm?"
"Fine." I simply stated, not moving my eyes away from the fire.
"Have you done it since then?" He quietly asked.
"No." I hesitantly responded, just as quietly, as I began to think of what happened last weekend.
***flashback***
I was in my bathroom, looking in the mirror. There was makeup running down my face from the tears slowly and quietly falling. I looked down at the blade in my hand as I slowly began dragging it across my wrist again and again. Letting the blood from my arm drip into the sink.
"Knock knock." I heard a voice come from my closed bedroom door, followed by two knocks. But I was too interested in my arm to do anything but barely even acknowledge it. Hoping they would just go away.
"Jordan? I saw your mom wasn't here, so I kind of just let myself in. I hope that's okay." I realized it was Hunter as I heard him enter my room.
"Hello? Jordan?"
"Just go away." I finally said as I made another slit on my arm.
"Hey are you crying?" He was right outside the bathroom door now.
"Go home, Hunter. Leave me alone." Another cut.
"I'm coming in."
"No!!" I yelled as he threw the door open, breaking the lock.
"What are you doing!?" Hunter yelled back as he looked at the blood covering the sink. Then at my arm, finally making the connection.
"No." He whispered, barely audible, as he just looked in my eyes.
"I'm sorry." I cried as I collapsed in his arms, dropping the blade on the floor. "I'm so sorry."
"It's okay, it's okay. Everything's gonna be okay." He said as he just held me, rubbing my back.
***end of flashback***
"Look can we just not talk about it." I begged, finally looking at him. "Just forget it ever happened."
"That's not exactly something I can forget. I don't want you to ever do anything like that to yourself again."
"It's not that simple." I whispered, looking away again.
"Then I want to help. You're so much more important than you think you are."
"Yeah, I'm sure." I scoffed.
"You are." He said, pulling me in between his legs, holding me and resting his head on top of mine. "You're my best friend. The last thing I want is for you to be hurt. I don't want to lose you."
