11: Code Names

It was raining, Todoroki was holding an umbrella over your heads as you ran through the school gate and into the building. You took off your rainboots and put them into your locker as Todoroki rung out the umbrella then folded it up and placed it into the rack. You then put on your school issued schools then the two of you walking into class and sat in your usual seats. "Hey Y/n" You turned your head towards Denki Kaminari as you sat down. "How many people recognized you from the sports festival over the break?"

"W-Well, I stayed in my home m-most of the time b-but on the w-way here a few r-reporters were pestering me and Sh-Shoto."

"Good morning." You were cut off as the door opened and Aizawa walked into the class. "Good Morning Mr. Aizawa." The class replied quickly taking their seats. "Ribbit, Mr. Aizawa! You don't have any bandages on anymore!" Asui called from the opposite side of the room from you. "That's good news!"

"The Old Lady went a little overboard with treatment. Anyway we have a big class today, on hero informatics. You need codenames, time to pick your hero identities." The whole class cheered at the news, Aizawa shushed them. "This is related to the Prohero draft pics that I mentioned the last time we were in class together. Not many students have to worry about the draft yet, not until their second or third year actually."

That is true...

"But your class is different. In fact, by extending offers to first years like you, Pros are essentially investing in your future. Any offers can be receded, if their interest in you died down before graduation" Hagakure pipes in "So what your saying is we'll still have to prove ourselves after we've gotten recruited!"

"Correct. Now, here are the totals of those of you who got offers." Aizawa pressed a button a small remote and a screen came down in front of the chalk bored turning on and showing all the offers and students, from the most offers, to the least. Todoroki was at the top, followed closely by you and a small ways off by Bakugo. The three of you had offers in the thousands while Iida who was after Bakugo was only in the three hundreds. "In past years its been more spread out, but there is a pretty big gap this time." A lot of the students started complaining, you could almost see steam coming from Aoyama's head. Jiro, Kirishima, and Sero were having a conversation about why You and Todoroki had more than Bakugo, who had won the sports festival. "I'M SCARING THE PROS! THEY'RE JUST WEAK!" Bakugo shouts indignantly, you giggle quietly. "Despite these results you'll all be interning with pros." Starts Aizawa. "Got it. Even those of you who didn't get any drafts."

"Oh," starts Midoriya behind you. "so we're all interning?"

"Yes you already got to experience combat with real villains' during the attack on the USJ facility, but it'll still be helpful to see pros at work, up close, in person, and on the field. First hand." More cheers came from the class "These hero names will most likely be temporary, but take this seriously or-" then the door opens to reveal Midnight "You'll have hell to pay later!" Midnight then goes to stand beside Aizawa. "What you pick today could be your code name for your life. You better be careful, or you'll be stuck with something utterly devious."

"Yeah, she's got a good point. Midnight is going to have final approval over your names. The name you give yourself is important, it helps reinforce your image and shows what kind of hero you want to be in the future. A code name tells people exactly what you represent. Take All Might for example." Bakugo passes you a stack of boards, you take one and then pass the stalk to Midoriya behind you. You also take a marker and pop off the cap, holding it over the board ready to write you think of a good hero name.

I want to fight villains', find where they are hiding underground and bring them to jail, but I also want to find kids who may turn into villains' and help them on the right path...
