"Happy Birthday Bitch." my father says as he hits me with his fist repeatedly.

Your probably wondering how we got here. Lets go back a few years.

"Go outside and play. Go make some new friends." My mother says as she is getting ready to go to the studio.

" Okay." I say hoping I make some new friends.
I put on my brand new basketball shoes mom got me for my birthday.

I grab my basketball and I leave the house and walk down the street to go to the public court to see if people were there.

When I get there I see 3 boys and 2 girls all playing a game of what looks like 21.

I walk over to them and they stop playing and come closer.

"Hey, can I play?" I say hoping they said yes.

"Yea, you can play." One of the boys said. He was kind of cute.

"I'm Mikey, this is Jalen, Bronny, Melo, Kyla, Kennedy, and Jaidyn." He said.

"I'm Imani." I said. "So, what are the teams?"

"Girls against boys?" Mikey says

"4 on 4" Mikey says

"Cool, but girls get ball first." Jaidyn says.

"Okay, fine by me" Mikey says

We play until the sun goes down and we eventually get tired and stop.

The boys won 55-62

They were really good like the people on tv.

It's time to go home now.

I was dribbling my ball home when I heard footsteps coming from behind me.

I turn to look and...

It was Mikey.

"Can I walk home with you?" he asks in a shy-ish tone.

"Sure" I say because he is a new friend of mine

"Okay. Let's go" he said running with my arm in his hand.

I give him the directions as we run and he continues to tug on my arm.

This lil nigga strong. i say in my head

We make it to my house and we're on the front porch.

" I liked playing with you." He says

" Me to, it was fun." I say

" well ok see you tomorrow." He says

" okay, bye👋🏾" said me

We wave to each other and he goes right next door to his house.

"Mom please call me." I say into my phone on the voicemail for the 837th time.

I've been calling my mom for 3 hours and she hasn't picked up the phone yet.

Dad won't answer either...

I got bored and took the elevator and went to my room where I jumped on my California king sized bed.

I turn on the TV to see breaking news about... mom??

" American singer and rapper 'sza' has been found dead in a car accident..."
