She pulled a box from under the bed. The object was damaged at the corners, worn by humidity more than time, and a thick carpet of dust covered it. Lifting the thick lid, nothing very interesting appeared. Things, here and there, that had been collected long ago. And in the middle of all this eternity a bundle; some photographs and a folded paper. Obviously, cruel temptation, how not to want to know the history. The one that was hidden for decades. Suzanne must have been the same age as Maia, if not slightly older. But why didn't Maia recognize the man in the photographs? Who was he and why had her grandmother never mentioned him?
