Chapter 7 The Unexpected Happens

As they drove home, Sydney started sobbing really hard and Marco did not know what to do and he was scared but all he did was wrap his arm around her and pull her up on his lap and tell her " it's okay Sydney, everything is going to be fine now, you and I can be together and then we can get married and have children and then I can tell you about your parents." She all of a sudden stopped sobbing and looked questioningly at him and said " what do you know about my parents?" And he smiled a real chilling smile that made her feel really cold and she felt a shiver up her spine and she gasped really loudly. " Who are you?" She screeched. "And what do you want from me?" She jumped off of his lap and even though the car was going super fast she jumped out of the back of the car and fell in the road. She got up and had to drag herself to the side of the road. After she got to the side of the road, she noticed that the Camaro was coming back for her and so she went and pulled herself into the bushes and hid there for about two hours. The car came and drove back and forth and finally it left and before she turned around, she felt a hand on her back. She didn't scream, but instead she turned around and noticed that it was a lady standing there and she looked very familiar and smelled just like her mother did when her mother died.

She then took the lady's hand and they walked well the lady walked and Sydney dragged herself the entire way. They walked a short distance to where the lady's cottage was and the lady opened the door and welcomed her inside. As the lady went to get her medical supplies, Sydney went into the bathroom and washed up some and walked and almost ran into the poor woman and she finally sat down on the couch and the lady stood over her and started humming spells and her leg began to feel better every minute. Finally the lady stood up and said " time for supper." And then she said " just follow me into the kitchen and oh I almost forgot, you can walk on your leg now." And Sydney was so amazed, she leapt into the lady's arms and hugged her and then she began to leap with joy and the poor little lady said with satisfaction " you cannot leap until you've eaten some of my homemade chicken and dumplings. " and with that the lady started down the hall and Sydney followed her and Sydney helped set the table and finally sat down to a very good meal. When supper was finished Sydney helped the little lady clean up the kitchen and then went to make a pallet on the floor where she would be sleeping or the night.

That night she dreamed that she was with Marco on a very cold December night in the middle of nowhere. She kept looking in the middle of the forest but she saw nothing at all. She woke up screaming and the little lady came down the stairs and saw her sweating badly and knew at once that she was having a nightmare.
