(Cuttlebone)

The Tale Goes.

Deep in space two ships fly.
But not till one is shot.
A blast unlike any other.
Erupting a blue flames from the back of the ship.

The sound is never heard in the vast void.

The damaged ship is just in Earths reach.
To avoid the next incoming blast.
The boosters kick on!
Blasting into the atmosphere.

The following ship breaks off.
Continuing it's path into space.

While the damaged ship plummets down like a comet.

Metal clanking off each other.
As it rockets down, colliding with the ocean bellow.
Uplifting water into the air.
Only spraying back down against the afloat ship.

Slowly, it tips.
Before going under.

...

There is faint clicking.
Inside the ship.
Staring at the dome glass.
Sea life swims past it.
All while the ocean blue hues turn dark.

A sudden jerk of the ship.
Metal creaking with strain as it scrapes some sort of bottom.

It sways a moment before all sounds settle.
The Yautja still sitting in his chair.
Staring at the dark waters before him.
Seeing a fish drift by.

It's colors vibrant with biolumincent flare.
But not till a whole school of them woosh by the dome.

Standing from his chair.
He grabs his side, nearly collapsing.
With a disgruntle click.
He flares his lower mandibles in annoyance.

Standing up straight.
He looks at the green smear within his palm.
But, turns his wrist over.
Flipping open the Wrist Pad.

Tapping his black claw against the screen.

His expression turning to anger.
Snorting as he closes the pad and looks around.

Seeing water trickle along the flooring.
Coming from the back of the ship.
Yet, he steps and turns.
Looking at the large dome, tilting his head.

Swearing he saw something looking back at him.
The waters bubble.
The sound so muffled yet perfectly heard.
A large tentacled arm raps over a rock.
While a large black eye stares at the dome of the ship.

Watching the flashing red lights from within.
Following the figure that moves about inside.
Yet, it recoils back within the rocks.
Bubbles following as the last to be seen.

Grabbing his mask off the wall.
He slips his head into the Helmet.
Small Golden symbols line the brow of the helmet.
These symbols continue down along the cheek bones.
Finishing at the jawline.
Each symbol is a picture.
Telling a story.
It would seem the Helmets tale is unfinished then.

Just before turning around.
He hears another sound come from above.
Like rocks falling on top of the ship.
The sound scuttles along the top.

Grabbing his spear.
It retracts within its smaller compartment.
He hooks to the back of his belt.
But, still stares at the ceiling.

Walking back further into his ship.
The lights flicker.
The strain on the metal is worse.
As water is forcing it's way in.
Luckily the metal is holding.
Leaving but a small leak.

But, it's still a problem.
And the Yautja doesn't watch for to long.
The ship jerks again.
Head spinning around to stare back down the hall.

Seeing a flicker of blue light flash across the dim floor.
...
With a glance back up at the leak.
The Yautja turns to walk back down the hall.
His hand on his Spear.
Unhooking.
Hearing the sound of metal bending.
And finally, a loud bust, like a cars colliding head first.

The yautja freezes as water pours in from the head of the ship.
Following a massy flesh that seems to be rolling along.
Caught up in the incoming water.
The levels begin to rise.
Looking back at the damaged hall.
There's no way back.
Aiming the spear at the rising water.

Seeing a blue flicker swiftly dart about within it.
Yet, it disappears slowly.

The Yautja looks around.
But, suddenly seeing a large mass burst from the water.
The Yautja side steps and watches the blob of flesh.

It hits against the damaged wall with a wet slap.
A bulbus mass with arms in front of its face.
A beak underneath snaps aggressively.

The Yautja looks from the water to the creature.
Walking over slowly.
He presses his foot to it's soft head.
Slowly adding pressure till the thing burst.

Its meaty inside slip free and ooze around the Yautjas foot.
A strange liquid leaking down and back into the water from the creature.

Lifting his foot.
He stares down at the mess.
Clicking.
He turns towards the rising water.
He opens his Wrist Pad.
Again staring at the symbols before closing it.

The Yautja enters the waters.

It is said that when two Umbra members came to Earth.
Having received a message long before.
They descended their ship deep within the waters.
Finding the ship of their fellow Yautja.
But, it was punctures several times.

The two members found nothing but rotting masses of flesh inside.
Being eaten away by other sea life.
The two would follow an odd trail.
Markings carved within the ocean rocks.

When they came to a cave.
Somehow supporting an air pocket.
The two stepped out of the water.
Ontop the rocky land.

They both stared before a Yautja corpse.
Bloated and rotting.
Thankful for their Helmets.
What surprised them the most.
The corpse sat like a king between two large rocks.
Surrounded by piles of smooth disc like bones.

The two carefully took steps closer.
Approaching the dead yautja.
Looking over the trove.
Polished and cared for despite the environment.

One of the members gently moved the deceased yautja's hand.
Seeing a very large Disced Bone within it's hold.
He also noted the bite mark on the yautja's wrist.

Speculating, that the follow Umbra may have died from it.
But, the only evidence to support this.
A pile of Umbra medical syringes.
Probably trying to prolong the effects of whatever was killing him.

Though the two members reported their findings.
Neither of them could tell their higher Ranks who this Yautja was.
For the Helmet of the Yautja was missing.
And their ships damage from the sea fried much of the data useful to them.
Why did the Yautja not give his name during his message to them?

To this day.
The large Bone sits in a preserved dome.
Where the rest were collected.
Some berried with the Deceased yautja.
While a small fracture was used for studies.

It turns out, that this species was related to the Cuttlefish from Earth.
But something within their blood made them resilient.
Bigger, and with beaks able to puncture various metals materials and rock.
Yet, their venom seemed to be the most lethal in the end.

It's probable that, that's what took the Umbra warrior in the end.
