The colors took shape...then abruptly fell into darkness.
Then a familiar voice filled it.
I see there's someone important to you.
The voice was muffled, but Alastor knew it from somewhere. He was sure it was a voice he didn't know personally, but the way it spoke..it was familiar to him.
How did you know?
He heard his own voice fill the room, muffled just as the other one was.
A shuffling sound took place of the silence, and the image on the screen shifted. The movement settled with a soft tap as it was placed down.
Light filled the room as the darkness faded, and he found his own face staring at what would be the camera in mild confusion.
An image appeared with two figures, one female, one male. Alastor recognized the male; the more winter-based outfit, and the way his hair was still brown like his eyes. Their voices softly spoke in the background as they debated over gifts.
Beautiful, aren't they?
The woman's voice spoke with a Hispanic accent. It was far clearer now.
Yes, they are, He heard himself reply, watching as the brunette on the screen looked away from the camera. Instead, he looked at the woman who was standing behind it, appearing more confused now.
But why are you showing me these? They seem rather valuable.
He remembered this conversation. How he'd been searching for something to give to Angel..The night before they found out they were soulmates.
The angel looked at him with raised brows. Alastor kept quiet, wondering if the angel was still contemplating ending his life.
He watched as the creature pushed another button, and the image on the screen fast forwarded.
Since today is your birthday, I believe now is an appropriate time to give you your gift.
The muffled voice was his own.
As the box was opened, his smile fell as he saw the image of his partner, eyes closed as he was instructed.
Alastor's throat felt tight, his eyes scanning over the image of his lover. One of the crystals was moved, the view staying on Angel.
His nails dug into the palms of his hands.
It's so pretty!
Angel's happy voice filled the room.
Alastor could feel his eyes burn as a lump formed in his throat.
I love it! Thank you!
The images flashed by at a faster pace...
