I want to let it go
To forgive and forget
To not know
I'm what he regrets
I should hate the crime
Not the criminal
To let go of the past
And be free at last
I can't change his mind
He already made it up
Never have me a chance
Never saved a dance
I need to forgive him
To rid this feeling
And face the fact
That he left me reeling
It might set me free
So I can stop wondering
If he'll come for me
I'll be able to
Get on with my life
And not be stuck
In this world of strife
I need to learn to forgive
Wasn't his fault
He had a life to live
He wasn't ready
I understand
I was an accident
I was unplanned
I can forgive him
I'm ready
To just let go
Slow and steady
