"Sorry bro. I gotta pick up my sister. Her car broke down or something and my mom is at work. Would you mind?" He asked me.

"Naahh nah go do your thing . It's not like I'm going anywhere" I chuckled.

Blake smirked "I'll catch you tomorrow morning maybe. See you then!"

He stood up from his chair and walked out the door, quietly closing it behind him.

Skyler's POV:

I plopped myself down on the sofa and grabbed the TV remote.

"Ugh" I grunted to myself. I finally had the chance to relax after a whole busy and stressful week of exams and just my luck, there's nothing coming on.

Flicking through the channels, I decided to settle for an Animal program coming on the Discovery Channel.

'The lion is currently in a peaceful stage, the wildlife it's only surrounding. But, as a small antelope wanders carelessly from its mother, the lion has now found prey and is not hesitant to attack'

"Oh my god! Get away, get away! Don't let the big lion get you!" I said a little too over enthusiastically.

"What the hell am I doing?" I wondered. "You see, this is what a lack of sleep does to you."

It was currently 8 o'clock in the evening. I could sleep early? Right? Hmmm.

Yes. I'll sleep early.

I pressed on the power button of the TV remote and walked slowly into my room. Slipping into my pajamas and a tank top, I headed towards my bed and I noticed the flowers and cards on my desk. I smiled remembering the day I received them.

[FOUR DAYS EARLIER]

I opened the door to the car, ecstatic that I was finally home.

"Whoa there cowgirl! Take it easy. Let me help you out." Sia said shifting the car gear into park.

"Sia. I'm perfectly capable of getting out of a car and walking into the house." I said.

I opened the car door and slowly stepped out. Leaning by the car, I closed my eyes and took a moment to take in the fresh air.

"Hey, are you okay? You're not gonna faint or anything are you?" She asked quickly.

"No, I'm jus-"

But before I could finish, I was suddenly swooped up into the arms of someone bridal style.

I opened my eyes knowing full well who it was.

"Kai." I smiled.

"How you feeling Sky? I'm so sorry I couldn't be there when all of this happened. I should have never gone to that party. I wasn't even able to see you at the hospital because of the '1 visitor per patient' rule. Since your mom was with you during the duration of your stay, I couldn't come in." He said with a frown.

"Don't worry about it. It's not like there was anything you could even do about it."

"Still..." He said.

"Mind putting me down? I was only a little dizzy at the hospital but I'm fine now." I said trying to wriggle free.

He tightened his grip on me, adjusting me closer to his chest.

"I'm not willing to take any chances." He smirked.

He then carried me into the house, Sia behind him with my bag.

As we approached the stairway, I placed my hand firmly in his shoulder. "There is no way I am letting you carry me up three flights of stairs. Seriously. Let me go."
