 "Barbatos, Barbatos!"

(Y/n) happened to find the aspiring butler by the hallway while he was sweeping the floor. A curious glimmer was in his eyes as he looked at them while they merrily walked in his direction. His heart dropped for a second when (Y/n) nearly slipped by tripping on a bump on the carpet. He let go of the broom he was holding to rush over their direction to help them.

"Be careful! Let me smooth it out..." he mumbled and stepped on the bump and slid his foot to flatten the lump but as he did that, a new bump popped out from a distance which made Barbatos groan. "This might take a while.."

"I'll just get that fixed by the other servants, let's go out and play!" (Y/n) exclaimed while jumping up and down. An excited glimmer in their eyes was seen by Barbatos and how could someone have the courage to decline their offer. "I already told my parents that I will be studying for the day. There is no way they'll bother me for the whole day."

Barbatos narrowed his eyes but soon, a sigh escaped his lips. "Fine, where do you want to go then?"

"I wanna go to the city. I haven't seen the city ever since my parents locked me up in the house and expected me to study so I could be a great heir to our business" (Y/n) sheepishly grins. "I'm still young, I want to explore the city before I become the heir of our business and get too busy"

"I get what you mean," Barbatos nodded, "Alright I'll take you to see the city but you must wear something to conceal your identity. Otherwise, we might both get in trouble"

(Y/n) enthusiastically nodded and quickly rushed back to their bedroom. Barbatos looked at the direction where (Y/n) went and sighed. He left the wooden broomstick against the wall before walking back to his shared bedroom with his father. He took out a ragged hood and covered himself under it to conceal his identity as well. Barbatos left the lyre on his bed as

The two met up in front of the secret passage where they both snuck out of the manor without being seen.

Barbatos scanned the area and when the coast was clear, he led (Y/n) towards a waypoint. "These devices are still under construction. There are some places in Mondstadt that don't have these waypoints yet since they are still in development. There are only two of these at the moment and the second one is in the city. He then intertwined his hands with (Y/n)'s, "Hold tight."

A cold slither of breeze enveloped the two as they teleported towards the other waypoint in the city.

"Welcome to the city of Mondstadt, stick with me or else we'd both get in trouble if someone knows who we are"

(Y/n) wondrously scanned the area. They ran towards the luscious bushes then jumped off the railing which made Barbatos worry that they might fall on the hard floor but instead they landed at ease. The male butler hopped off the railings as well but his foot got caught making him lose balance and land on the bushes, bottom first. He let out a pained moan as he slowly hoisted himself up to look for (Y/n).

Barbatos was expecting that (Y/n) was in front of him but they were not. He stood up and somehow started to panic as he walked around the plaza to search for their whereabouts.

The male pursed his lips as he searched through every alleyway in the city but so far there are no leads to where they were. Barbatos was starting to regret taking (Y/n) to see the city as he expected that they would stay by his side. He reluctantly walked to the fountain and peered through his reflection on the rippling water.

There's no use moping around. You have to find (Y/n) and make sure they get home safely or else your father will be in big trouble. Barbatos thought to himself and nodded. "But if I were to find them in this huge city, I would need backup"

Barbatos ventured off to where he used to live with his father before he was working under the (L/n) residence. It was a small home in a secluded area in the city. It may not be much but Barbatos had so much fun living here even if it was him and his father.

A pink colored ball had rolled towards his feet, stopping as it hit his shoes. He crouched down and picked up the toy and when he did, Barbatos was tackled on the ground with a strong impact hitting him. The ball bounced off to wherever as he lost his grip when he got hit by the mysterious person.

"You're back!! You're back!!"

Laughter was heard around Barbatos. When the poor boy had regained his consciousness, he saw one of his friends in front of him, Amber, who had a huge smile on her face as she tackled Barbatos on the ground. Barbatos looked around and saw Zhongli, Xiao, Diluc and Jean, his childhood friends who he unfortunately left due to his father's job.

Amongst his group of friends, a sigh of relief escaped his lips as he saw (Y/n).

Barbatos hastily stood up and rushed over to (Y/n), "Did you know how much I worried for you?!" He abruptly pulled them for a tight hug, relief washing over him knowing that he wouldn't cause his father any trouble.

His friends cleared their throats which made Barbatos quickly pull away due to the embarrassment. He glared at his friends and mouthed, "Thanks a lot" before turning to (Y/n).

"I guess you already met my friends, I hope that they didn't cause a lot of trouble" Barbatos bashfully scratched his cheeks and looked away. "They can be a little too.. rowdy if you know what I mean"

"Barbatos is usually the rowdy one in our group. Don't trust what he's saying (Y/n)" the oldest one in the group, Zhongli placed his hand in front of Barbatos making the latter scowl. "What brings you two in the city?"

"And what's with the clothing?" Jean gestured to both of their ragged hoods.

Xiao stepped up and crossed his arms, "Let me guess. You snuck (Y/n) out of their manor huh?" He turned to Barbatos and sighed as the latter turned his head away, refusing to make eye contact with him. "In this case, we must not let (Y/n) get seen by any of the passersby. You know how people tend to act when they're in the presence of someone powerful"

"And (Y/n) is the heir to the (L/n) business. Makes sense" Diluc nods.

Barbatos glanced over to Diluc and squinted his eyes, "Don't you have any family meeting or anything? Why are you even here, won't your father be mad?"

Diluc sighs, "I know all about the business already. Father is showing my brother the tavern and I found a perfect way to snuck out. I couldn't bear to be with Ocellus for long" he shivers then turned to (Y/n)'s direction. "Where do you want to go?"

"I'm fascinated about the huge statue in front of the church" (Y/n)'s eyes sparkled as they turned towards Barbatos. "Can we go there?"

Barbatos was having second thoughts since there are a lot of people in front of the statue. But upon looking at (Y/n)'s determined expression. He sighed and reluctantly nodded, "Okay fine, but don't stray away from me. Before we go the statue, let's pick some dandelions outside"

"Ah, we already picked dandelions earlier this morning," Amber smiled and quickly ran inside her home. Minutes later she arrived with a handful of Dandelion flowers by her arms. "This should be enough for an offering"

Barbatos nodded and grabbed a few of the flowers. He gently took (Y/n)'s hands and intertwined his fingers with them as he led the way towards the statue.
