"he wants us to be in his house band, for eternity" luke groaned "but if we can play the orpheum soon then we can avoid all thag and actually cross over"

"cross over? as in like what? go to heaven?" amelia asked

luke nodded "that's what we're banking on"

"so it's either you cross over, be in his band for eternity or be destroyed by those jolts?" julie asked, luke nodded "great. that's just great. and on top of that millie is getting them too"

julie didn't say anything else, she just stormed into the house, slamming the door behind her.

"lia, have you seen anyone strange in the last few days or shook hands with a stranger?" luke said

"no, luke this is scaring me, i'm gonna lose you, and what's gonna happen to me?" she cried

"i'm sorry lia. i really don't know" luke said pulling his sister into a hug

she hugged him tightly, before pulling away, she sent him a small smile "i will see you later, i'm gonna go see julie"

amelia ran upstairs to julies bedroom, sending a quick hello to ray, she jumped on the bed beside her best friend.

"why does everyone leave?"

"i don't know jules, but i'm not going anywhere, i'm made of strong stuff" amelia said laying beside her "i can't believe i'm gonna lose my brother, and the boy i really like"

"goodbyes are hard" julie sighed, picking up her sketch book and starting to draw.

julie was still drawing an hour later, amelia was rubbing her chest, trying to ease that ache that remained there, when flynn suddenly burst through the door. "hey i got your text"

"don't come too close, anyone we seem to care about disappears" amelia sniffled

"you can't get rid of me" flynn said "i'm like the crazy glue of best friends"

julie shook her head "i just don't get it, right when my life starts to get good, great friends, great band, great guy"

"great guy and great brother" amelia added

"then bam!" julie turned around the paper she was drawing on, to show a huge explosion

flynn sighed "i seriously don't know why all of this is happening to you. but that's gonna be a great album cover one day" she said bending down to fold up the jumper julie was wearing, placing it back in rose's trunk

"you don't have to do that"

"i know, but i get to check out all your moms cool stuff" flynn said, she then pulled out a tshirt, which 'sunset curve' written on the front "woah. did you guys know this was in there?"

"what the heck? even i don't have one of them and luke's my brother" amelia said

"how do you think she got it?" flynn asked

julie shrugged "i don't know, but the guys said they didn't know my mom. why would they lie?"

"maybe they didn't?" amelia guessed

"maybe she knew them, she could have been a fan" flynn guessed

"i mean the guys were 17 in 1995, your mom was a similar age at that time" amelia explained

flynn nodded "i mean, sunset curve was playing the hollywood club scene around then" she said "oh my gosh, what if the guys are connected to your mom? you know, through music of something"

"because she has their tshirt?" julie asked

"think about it, they were the ones who made you wanna play music again. maybe she knew they could help you" flynn explained

"so you mean to tell us that rose is somewhere planning all of this?" amelia scoffed

julie nodded "if she wanted me to play music again then why didn't she just tell me herself?"

"what if she can't? maybe she had to find another way. you know, through signs. come on, you've been through these clothes how many times and haven't found this tshirt? why now?" flynn ranted "i'm just saying that it's not over, julie"

julie and amelia stared at her in disbelief "really? signs?"

"we are in a ghost band. it's a crazy world" amelia admired eventually

"you're gonna lose them either way. and it sucks, but they helped bring you back to life, both of you. now you need to help them" flynn explained

"we need to help them cross over" amelia decided with a nod

"let them go" flynn agreed

amelia and julie stormed into the studio, the boys were mopping around laid on the sofa. amelia sighed "snap out of it!" she yelled

alex fell to the floor in shock, while reggie commented "jeez i think you broke alex"

"do you guys wanna cross over or what?" julie said

"they're never gonna let us play the orpheum" luke said "we're nobody"

"we're less than nobody"

"we have no bodies" reggie said as the other boys snapped towards him in agreement

julie sighed slightly "someone once told me that you don't ask for permission"

"you book gigs by doing" amelia finished

"that was me" reggie smiled proudly

"no it wasn't" amelia giggled

"no it wasn't" julie and luke replied

"yeah it was"

julie stood in front of them all "this isn't over, we were brought together for a reason, to help each other"

"but like luke said, people don't just play the orpheum" alex told the two lifers

"people don't" amelia agreed "but ghosts do..."
