"Sorry," I began, covering my mouth with my clenched fist, "The way you said the professors name, it sounded like you said cock-ner." This triggered a plethora or snorts and chuckles, "Oh my god [F/N], so dirty!" She gently slapped my forearm, causing me to laugh harder. "Alright alright, let's get this over with." I said with one last giggle, finally getting us back on track.

----

A few hours – and a few drinks – later and we both had successfully completely our individual assignments. Of course, there was some over-lapping of organization, but by-in-large we each had our own unique projects that we were satisfied with. With an exhausted but enthusiastic sigh Jocelynn shut her laptop and placed it on the floor, then in one swift motion moved to rest her head on the keyboard in my lap. I rolled my eyes and moved the laptop from under her, causing her head to rest against my jean-laden lap. Placing my device behind me, I listened as she took another sip of her beer. "You know [F/N]," She began, her voice deep and lower than usual. "I have to be honest with you, I was a little worried at first – about your buddy uh, what was his name again?" With a raised brow I answered, "Dell."

"Right right Dell. Um, I was worried about him when you mentioned he'd be here." I glanced down at her, my curiosity peaking. "And why is that?"

She scrunched her nose and looked up at the ceiling as she went on, "Well, I thought he'd be your boyfriend or something." I could feel my cheeks flush. I didn't want to have more people confuse him as my boyfriend, especially someone who I wanted to become friends with, simply because it'd be hard to explain why he magically disappeared – or, whatever the future brought in store for our situation. Taking my lack of words as encouragement to proceed, she continued. "I mean, not to sound um, vain or anything, but like, you deserve someone attractive and tall and, I dunno." Her words began to trail off, her eyes moving from the ceiling to make direct eye contact with me. Something inside me boiled and bubbled, yet at the same time I could feel my heart racing. Was I insulted for him? There was a part of me that wondered if she was alluding to what I thought she was, but I didn't want to jump to conclusions.

Her head shot up from its place on my lap, her body shifting so she could get her knees on the bed. After downing her beer, she hazily threw the empty can at her laptop, then turned her attention back to me. She placed her hands on both of my shoulders and started leaning forward. Her lips parted as she spoke again, this time in a whisper. "I think you deserve someone like – "

Knock, knock.

"[F/N]? Sorry to bother ya ladies, but Ah need t'ask [F/N] somethin'."

"Oh, um, come in!" Clearly this was not what Jocelynn wanted to hear from me, as her lips pursed as they had before out of irritation. When Dell opened the door, she turned her upper body over to face him, I couldn't see her expression but seeing Dell's face gave me an idea of the look she was giving him. He looked confused, concerned. His eyes darted back and forth from Jocelynn to me. Our position likely didn't help the situation. I tried to move but Jocelynn's grip on my shoulders tightened, finally she snapped. "Well? Ask her your question. We're busy."

He gave me an even deeper look of confusion to which I simply shrugged to. "Well, uh, Ah actually need to ask her in private." He sounded flustered now, I had an inkling of why, but once again I wouldn't let myself assume. I tried getting up when Jocelynn forced my body down with a quick movement. "Why's that?" It was now clear that she was full on drunk, her words slurred and sloshed as her expression grew more exacerbated. Dell was about to continue when she cut him off, "You've ruined the perfect moment you know. I was, I was gonna tell [F/N] how she deserves someone – someone better than you." Now her words were drawn out, however the lace of envy was clear as day.
