[A/N]: Gonna let ya folks know this chapter was a hard one to write. I was kinda worried how to handle a certain character. I promise you I simply do not write filler chapters in stories like this so there is 10000% reasoning behind all of it. Also please have a happy/confused Dell. <3

[----]

Our heads were turned to face the door, a little sigh escaped my lips – my saviour. Placing my hand on Dell's right shoulder I smiled earnestly, "Thank you for being so supportive." He gave me a faint smile before watching as I walked away.

With little hesitation, I opened the door to reveal my excitable peer. Jocelynn is an interesting character; fashionably early, witty, and above all – always has her hair in a unique colour. She stands at 5 foot 10 inches and has a rich dark skin complexion. Her eyes were the deepest shade of brown one could possess, and yet they always had a kind of glow to them, filled with life. Today her hair was a vibrant shade of violet that matched her knapsack. One had to wonder how she found a way to match her hair to her accessories so perfectly. As the wooden door separating us fully opened, the woman lunged herself towards me with her arms wide open. While smothered in her friendly embrace she said, "Oh [F/N], thank you so much for letting me work with you on this! I just knew you'd be my knight in shining armour!" I let out a little laugh as I felt my breath escape me at a rapid pace. Only a moment passed before she let go and used her palm to gesture over at Dell. "Is he the buddy you mentioned?" Her bubbly demeanour seemed to shift as she asked, but Dell didn't seem to notice as he made his way over to us. With his left arm outstretched, he smiled warmly at her. Though I could see in his eyes he was still thinking about our previous conversation. "The name's Dell, pleasure to meet ya."

Jocelynn let out a curious little snort as she took his hand and happily shook it. "Delightful meeting you too, sir." It was hard to ignore the way in which she said sir, however, she likely could tell that he was older, so I disregarded it. After letting his hand go, my eager peer flung her arm over my shoulder and grinned down at me. "Now, let's go to your room and get this snore-fest over with. I brought some Smirnoff's and Bud Light Lime, figured a good variety was in order." I playfully rolled my eyes; she was going to have us mix our drinks clearly with intent on seeing me drunk. "Alright. Dell, do you mind if we take my room while you stay out here and work on your, um, thing?" I assumed he knew what my vague statement meant, he simply smiled and nodded. "Course, Ah wouldn't wanna intrude on your work."

"Awesome!" Jocelynn beamed, shaking my shoulder slightly. "Lead the way [F/N]!"

Upon entering my room, the tall woman slammed the drinks on my desk. Letting out a content sigh all the while. "This'll be fun! I mean, the first part will suck, but after the work is done this'll be a blast! We never hang out, and I think that's just not right." My lips formed a genuine smile as she spoke; she was right, this would be fun, and it was the perfect distraction from my gnawing thoughts. I got my laptop out and sat on my bed, glancing at the indent that was left behind by Dell this morning. I let my smile melt into one of affection when my thoughts were interrupted by the bouncing of the mattress as additional weight landed on it. Jocelynn sat with one leg folded under the other that draped over the bed, with her laptop comfortably situated in her lap. Within seconds she had it cracked open and was typing away. "So, how much have you gotten done?" She asked, her eyes refusing to leave the monitor. "Well, I've been a bit busy, but I'd argue I'm a little over halfway done." A deep groan emanated from the body beside me. "I'm so embarrassed. I mean, I've done all the research on Australia and junk, I think, but I don't know how to go about demonstrating it. Like, I hate how open-ended Professor Kophner left it. So stupid." She pursed her lips as she spoke, effectively tampering with her annunciation. I couldn't hide the laugh in my throat even if I tried, causing her to tilt her head in my direction.
