Chapter 35: Weird

Start from the beginning

"Shit! When do we start?" I asked them.

"Now, we have the whole day for it," Nayeon answered as I just nodded.

This is going to be a long day.

Hours passed and I we're not even halfway through the whole performance.

I'm getting tired.

And this is just practice.

And I forgot to bring an extra shirt.

"Let's take a ten minute break," Momo, who was leading us for now, said before leaving the room with Nayeon.

I got a towel and sat on the floor.

I'm so sweaty, I forgot about practice today.

I took  deep breaths as I still was feeling tired.

"Sana, let's get lunch," Someone said, making me look at the direction from where the voice was from.

"She's probably tired, she'd probably accept our offer," Another student said when a sudden knock on the practice room door was heard.

Thank you to the person who did that.

The room went silent as the door slowly, revealing Dahyun with a paper bag in hand.

Dahyun?

I scratched my eyes, checking if it was really her.

She approached and sat beside me, handing me the bag, not saying a word.

I looked at the contents of the paper bag.

It was packed lunch and water.

I looked at her before asking, "How did you know?"

"You told me about this a few days ago, just figured out that you'd forget. You shouldn't stress yourself, you know?" She said and asked.

"You remember?" I asked her as she nodded.

"Just eat as you rest," She spoke as I started eating.

"Are we still going out later?" I asked her.

"If you're tired after classes, I'll just take you home. We can go out another time," She answered.

She's caring today.

It's weird.

"Is there something wrong?" I asked and looked at her whose eyes look nervous.

"N-Nothing's wrong," She answered in a nervous tone.

"Are you sure?" I asked and looked at her once again as she avoided my gaze.

"Kim Dahyun," I added in a serious tone, and proceeded to tap her shoulder.

"Chaeyoung knows," She blurted out, sounding like a whisper for only me to hear.

What?

"That's impossible, the two of you don't talk," I answered her.

"I bumped into her earlier, and she told me about it. I denied it, but as you may have known, I'm a horrible liar," She sighed.

Obviously.

"You are. How are we going to handle this?" I asked her.

"Let's just talk about it later, I still have classes," She answered.

"You skipped a class?" I asked her as she nodded, responding with, "It's fine, I'll catch up with the lessons. Enjoy your lunch." Then quickly left.

More hours passed and it was now time to go home.

I stood up and left the practice room to wait for Dahyun, she texted me that she's already on the way.

And after a few minutes of waiting, she arrived with a white shirt in hand.

"Wear this," She said and handed me the shirt.

"No need, Dahyun. It's fine," I responded, but she insisted, so I got the shirt.

"You were wearing the same shirt when I came to visit you earlier, you might get sick," She said, making me smile at her.

"You care about me, don't you?" I asked her. I mean, I teased her.

"I should care, we're friends now," She answered, making me laugh.

We're now what?

"We are?" I asked her as she nodded.

"Yes, we are. Now change, I'll be waiting here," She said, while I nodded and left to change my shirt.

I finished and went back to see her standing on the same spot.

She did wait there.

"Let's go?" She asked.

"Here's my keys," I responded and gave her my car keys.

I'm too tired to still drive myself home.

We went to the parking lot and got inside my car.

She started driving as I leaned on the car seat and looked outside.

The drive wasn't that awkward because we talked.

We usually have these types of conversations whenever we go out.

They were weird, and random topics, but it's fun to discuss it with her.

Who knew that Kim Dahyun had this side of her.

As time passed, we reached my house.

She went out of the car and gave me my keys.

"You can park your car inside, right?" She asked as I nodded.

"Well, I'll be going now. See you," She added.

"See you," I responded as she left.

What 's with her today?

She's so caring, it's weird.
