"Leave" my voice was demanding and hard. I tried with all my might to stay strong and not back down.

"No I'm not," George shook his head and walked closer to me, I lifted my arm up as if I was protecting myself from him, as if he would ever try to hurt me.

"Please leave, I don't want you here"

"Why?" George stopped and looked at me dead in the eyes, his brown hair blowing gracefully in the wind.

"I- I don't want you here! Go away!" My voice began to shake but I covered it up with anger, George's shoulders relaxed and he put his hand on my shoulder, I snatched his arm and pulled him away, He didn't resist, only looked up in my eyes.

"Dream, You're hurting me." His sad monotone british accent set something off inside me, I let go, feeling guilty for even touching him, Feeling guilty for even bringing him along, Feeling guilty for even meeting him in the first place.

"Please..Go away" My head dipped down low looking at my shoes, it was starting to pour rain, the drips of water sliding off my hair and on my face.

"I don't need you." My voice was serious and dead hard.

I stood there in the middle of the street, rain pouring down, I heard the running away sounds of footsteps go off in the distance.

George running away wasen't the thing that broke me, It was the fact that the words I had said were from the very bottom of my heart and that I meant them.

I fell to my knees slouching the puddle of water beneath me, I lay on my back in the middle of the road and let the rainfall cover me like a blanket. My mind wondered, not thinking anything just..being.

Suddenly a loud siren came balring from the east side sending chills down my spine, I shot right up and looked to the sky, half expecting God and his angels to appear in high above, sending hell fire upon us but i didn't see anything of that sort, The phone in my pocket buzzed like crazy.

WARNING: SEEK SHELTER IMMEDIATELY

LOCK YOUR DOORS AND WINDOWS.

I furrowed my brow in confusion, It wasn't a tornado warning or anything, it would tell you that. Something else must be happening. I looked off in the direction where George had run off, as if I would find him standing there waiting. I looked around, my house was one door down, a one minute walk. I started running towards it, not risking anything.

I shot right up the back steps and into the garage where I ran right into the house. The entryway was warm and bright, Mom was in the living room with my father, They were both sitting on the couch, holding hands, their eyes full of fear. When they saw me my mother screamed and ran to me, wrapping her arms around my whole body, practically squeezing me to death, she began to cry into my shoulder mumbling nonsense that I couldn't understand, My father walked over and led us to the living room. Where the tv had been, the news was on, A young

Time stopped when i looked at the TV, My mothers sons were drowned out by a distance siren blaring in slow motion, the news anchor on the screen was moving at snail's pace, My breaths were slow, A loud ringing ear began in my ear, getting louder and louder until a whooshing sound and i'm back to reality. I could hear my mothers sons and my father comforting her.

My knees suddenly gave way and I began falling to the ground, My father catching me and placing me on the couch, I didn't feel like laying down, I stood right back up and stared at the screen news report. At the bottom in big bold letters read out-

Chemical outbreak. Zombie-like apocalypse spreading wildy.

My dad ran over to the windows and shut them locked, then he moved onto the doors, My mother was still crying but she was on the chair now, My mind starting cloudling, over thinking, Thinking about what happened, how many people are infected. But it kept coming back to one question.

George

His house was 20 minutes away, he wouldn't have made it home by time the siren went off. I wanted to run, Scream for my friend, My eyes started watering again. Just the thought of George being gone hit me in the chest like a jackhammer. George was one of my best friends, along with sapanp, we've known each other for 14 years, me and sapnap met at age 4, then started playing video games and met george, who is from the UK. Sapnap's real name is Nick but his gamertag is sapnap and it just stuck. My name is Clay but everyone and I mean everyone calls me a dream unless they are dead serious.

I had zoned out from my surroundings thinking about my friends that i didn't notice my parents were gone, The tv was still on but they were nowhere to be seen.

"Mom?! Dad?!" I walked around the first floor, I called out to them in every room with no avail, my voice became frantic, assuming the worst had happened to them that they had somehow got kidnapped and were lying dead in a ditch somewhere. I chill feeling went up my spine, I spun around in all directions expecting to see a murderer or something behind me ready to kill me. I started yelling and screaming, the whirl of my spinning sending me into a downward spiral, I dropped to the ground and covered my head with my arms feeling heat cover my entire body, dragging me underneath the ground and into the pits of fire. My breath was hot and heavy, my heart bumping at the speed of light. My eyes were closed but moving in every direction. My parents were everything to me, they raised me well and I couldn't bear to lose them. I always lived with them even though I could afford my own house. I decided to stay with them until I find a nearby house I could live in just to be close to them. My mind flashed with all the good memories I had with them. Going to the store with them, laughing with them, Eating with them, Going to church with them, Seeing them at my graduation, Introducing George to them, visiting my college for the first time, Witnessing my first girlfriend, Witnessing my first breakup. They were there for everything

I heard my name being called out. It was my father, I closed my eyes and shook my head trying to shake the memories past me until I realized it wasn't the tiny little voice in my head that was talking. I picked my head up and slowly got off the ground, looking around for the voice.

My father was running towards me frantically, screaming and shouting something I couldn't make out, Before he would get to me a black flash swept him up from an open entryway, following along the screams of pain and agony. A face whipped around the door corner, A face so horrid and inhuman it made me want to gouge my eyes out, I turned around and started running, not daring to look back, I ran right out of the house and through the neighbors yard, My adrenaline was high and my legs were moving faster than they had ever gone before, It was pouring rain, lighting thundering like crazy but I didn't stop, I could hear the thing yell in a mumble of sounds after me. I didn't turn back, I didn't stop, I just kept running, I saw the whirls of other humans like things past me as I ran. Suddenly the thought hit me.

Zombies

My parents had just got attacked by zombies
