"Sooo, tell me!" You said excitedly, "How was it?"

"Oh yeah, right," You noticed a small smile creep onto his face before he spoke,"It was great, I made so many friends, I know I wrote to you about most of them though,"you nodded,"And the classes, they're way more fun than you'd expect. Way better than the normal classes here." He said, folding a red and yellow scarf.

The colors caught your attention as you had remembered something he had previously wrote to you about, "Is that your house scarf?" You asked, motioning towards its new position on the floor.

"Yeah, did I ever explain the houses to you?" He asked, folding another article of clothing.

"Not really, you just told me that you made it into this house called, uhm..Gryffindor? I think?" You said, a hint of uncertainty in your voice as you looked at him for approval.

He laughed slightly at your fear of saying it wrong before nodding and continuing,

"Yeah, so basically there are four different houses you can get sorted into, your house says a lot about who you are as a person, of course there are stupid stereotypes for each house, but you can't really escape those." He sighed before continuing, taking a red book out of his trunk, setting it on his bed, "There's Gryffindor, the lion, Ravenclaw, the eagle, Hufflepuff, the badger, and Slytherin, the serpent."

You nodded,

"Which house do you think i'll be in?"

He paused for a moment,

"Uhm i'm not sure, but since you're my sister, and both mum and dad were Gryffindors, you'll probably be one too" He smiled, looking up at you momentarily.

"Hmm the lion," you said pondering your brothers words, "I don't know."

"What?," He asked, chuckling a bit, "Not sound cool enough for you?"

"No it does, but I just don't see myself as a lion," You shrugged, "Honestly the serpent sounds way cooler, like the one we saw at the zoo last year."

He froze, you noticed this look cross his face momentarily before immediately looking up at you again.

"Trust me y/n, there is nothing cool about the serpent."

His voice was cold and didn't have much emotion behind it, the only thing you could pick up on was a hint of concern.

"What why, is that a bad house or something?" You asked, genuinely curious now.

He sighed, "No, none of the houses themselves are bad just, the people sorted into Slytherin are awful."

"They cant all be bad, I mean do you even know anyone in Slytherin?" You asked, scooting closer to his trunk and looking through some of the items.

"Yeah, a couple of people, but this one guy is probably the worst out of all of em'." He scoffed, "He's probably the biggest bully in the whole entire school, and he has these three little friends who are just as awful, they follow him practically everywhere." He chuckled to himself before continuing, "Plus he has this headache inducing platinum blonde hair, it's all slicked back and gross looking."

You giggled for a moment,
he clearly really didn't like this kid.

You wondered what must have happened between the two.

Although, you decided it'd be best not to ask, at least not for now.

"Well, yeah he sounds awful but that can't mean they're all bad," You said, grabbing one of his new school books, flipping through the pages, "I bet you there's some annoying people in Gryffindor too."

"Of course there are." He admitted.

"Well then one bad Slytherin can't be a reason as to why you hate the whole house." You looked at him.

He shrugged, "Good point, but you'll see for yourself next year."

Those words sunk in as you thought to yourself for a moment, smiling as you realized that it really was only three months away now, "I'm so excited."

"It really is home, Y/n"

A comfortable silence filled the air, but not for long of course till the stories from the both of you carried on, having him home made you feel whole again.

So much had happened while he was gone, good and bad, and of course you filled him in on almost all of it.

Shortly after Harry was done unpacking and the two of you had caught up, Vernon was yelling upstairs that it was time for dinner.

"Ew y/n you're eating like a pig!" Dudley laughed, cutting into his chicken.

You slowly looked over at him, deadpan expression on your face.

"Dudley, you cant even say anything about eating like a pig," You said, "Don't make me bring up last years cake incident whe-"

"Y/n." Vernon said, kicking your ankle from underneath the table.

You took the hint, choosing to bite your tongue and drop it, Dudley on the other hand did not.

"At least I don't eat like that!" He Continued, defending himself, "It was a cake what did you except me to-"

"It was Harry's birthday cake, and I would expect you to control yourself!" You laughed, raising your voice slightly.

"Enough!" Mrs Dursley said, causing you to slouch down into your seat.

Harry's eyes darted from you to Dudley over and over again as he tried his best not to laugh.

Once everyone was done eating you and Harry were given the responsibility to clean up, of course.

"Why do I have to do the dishes?" Harry asked, scrubbing one of the plates clean.

"Because i'm nice and I decided to put away leftovers instead" You said, your words coated in sarcasm, "Plus you didn't have to do them for a whole school year!"

"Oh shut up." Harry said, flicking water in your face.

You giggled and reached over his shoulder to quickly grab the bottle of soap, pointing it directly at him.

He then quickly reached over and grabbed the sprayer connected to the sink, pointing it directly at you.

"Harry don't you dare!" You said.

"Put down the soap then." He said, a smile creeping onto his face.

"I will when you put the sprayer back!" You chuckled.

Yeah, it was nice having him home.

As you laid in bed that night, your mind wandered aimlessly until it landed on the boy your brother had told you about.

Slytherin? A bully? Platinum blonde hair?

I wonder if he's really what Harry says he is?
