Y/N POV
"Baby im not gonna be able t make it im sorry" My longtime boyfriend Brandon says over the phone causing me to wine
"but baby this is my birthday" I can hear his sigh over the phone me roll my eyes and sniff because I was really about to cry
"Baby don't cry okay I have a game so im not gonna be able to make it" he says putting his face in the camera and when he does that I know he wants me to put mine in the camera
"it Okay baby I understand Basketball comes first" I say sighing into the phone almost crying at this point
"y/n im so- "its alright brandon talk to you later" I say cutting him off and hanging up the phone im not gonna lie it hurt a lot since hes been in college and im still in cali by myself so we have been distant a lot lately
2 hours later
"Y/N COME DOWNSTAIRS" my mom says as I slowly get ready for my birthday party currently getting set up downstairs
"OKAY IM COMING" I say slowly walking down the steps hoping to see Brandon but not seeing him at all causing me to frown
"mami whats wrong" my mom says wrapping her arms around me and kissing me on my forehead
"Nothing Mom is everyone here" I say she nods and points to the backyard signaling me to go back there and me overthinking again I was still hoping he would pop up out of nowhere
as I looked around everyone was having fun at my birthday party but me and it sucked because I really wanted Brandon here!
After the party while we were cleaning up my mom came up to me "Im sorry he didn't make it baby" she says while helping me pick up the plates
"im not tripping ma hes following his dream and I cant come between it" I say while shrugging my shoulders
after we finished cleaning up I went upstaira to take a shower, while I was in the shower I heard the doorbell ring and mumbling
at this point I didn't let my hopes get up on me so I didn't really care at this point
"Y/n when you get out the shower I have a surprise on your bed" my mom says then walks out my door
once I got out of the shower and opened the door there he was sitting on my bed Brandon made it he was here
"BABY" I say jumping on him causing him to start laughing
"I thought you couldn't make it" I say while quickly putting on my clothes
"Y/n I would never miss your birthday and you know that" he says pulling me closer to him while grabbing my chin
"Brandonnnnnn what you doing" I say backing up towards my bed cuz I really had nowhere to go
"what you mean" he says smirking
"WEAR PROTECTION" my mom screams from the otherside of my door
