~Chapter Five~

In the distance heading towards us was mom’s white wolf came running towards us and her beta, Jimmy carrying someone on his back. It was Jiraya. The wisest man in the land.

As she stepped on the scene, the only person she had her eyes on was me. If disappointment, rage, and embarrassment were a person it would be her, without a doubt.

She shifted into her human and stood next to Kylo, asking him all that taken place. I could feel her staring. They were so strong and daunting, and there was no way of escaping.

I just wanted the moon goddess to take me out of my misery. This was too much a small, inexperienced teenage wolf like me could handle, but yet again, this was all my fault.

After Kylo had given her his report, she strutted over towards us...and got right down to business, not caring to ask how I feel or if I was alright.

But I knew her too well. When she’s like that, I know she was furious and would explode on me on sight for my negligence and disobedience, but as the perfectionist she was, she wouldn’t let it happen.

“Darius, the cursed Alpha.” She said to him calmly, slying her eyes at me.“We’ve yet again crossed paths and somehow, you have my rebellious daughter confined.”

The older voice I heard earlier reappeared as an older, slim build man with grey hair and a subtle ball plate, stepped from behind him.

“I speak to him.” He said. “I am Sethi. The uncle of Alpha Darius’s and also his close advisor.”

Mom looked between them than at me, raising a sharp, you’re-going-to-get-it-later, brow at me.

“I’m sure you do know the treaty of the land, stating the consequences of crossing other’s territory.” Mom said, and for a split second, a sigh of relief came over me. “You’re on my turf, restraining my daughter!”

“We never said we do not know the treaty of the land and the treason if broken.” Old man Sethi said. “But, the treaty also informs us that if one’s property is on foreign soil, he or she has their rights to overstep any boundaries to retrieve what’s rightfully theirs.”

What’s rightfully theirs? What the hell does Mom have that he wants so badly? And I’m the one who’s stuck between all this mess!

Again, there was this awkward silence and I could feel my heart beating out of my chest waiting for Mom to respond.

Come on Mom...say something!

“Perhaps we can settle this in a more private matter,” Mom said. “If it’s land, money, or cattle... I would be obliged to reconsider.”

“What the hell do you take me for?” Alpha Darius said growling lowly. “I don’t want your Land, Money, or Cattle! I’ve got mines in abundance!”

“Than what is it you want?” Mom asked confusedly.

He glanced down and me, eyes hard. I looked around at his pack as their eyes glowed vibrantly in the shadowy background.

I could feel his grip tightening on my wrist as Sethi speak out.

“I’m thrill to inform you, Alpha Darius has finally reached a milestone in his life,” Sethi said as a small smirk curled on his wrinkled face.

Milestone? W-what milestone?!

“And what do me, my pack, and my daughter has to do with that?” Mom asked, placing her feet firmly on the ground.

“It has a lot to do with it, but most importantly, your daughter,” Sethi replied.

“M-me?” I said taking deep breaths. “I don’t know what he’s talking about, Mom! I swear! I-I SWEAR!”

My lungs felt like it was going to burst as I breathed in and out sharply. There were so many mixed signals getting thrown about and still, I remained clueless.

Mom sigh. A frail look of disappointment and disbelief came over her face.

“Spill it!” She said, refusing to look me in the face.

“Spill what! I shouted trying to pull out of his grip. “Spill what Mom?”

“Miss Joel,” Sethi said, wishing that I never asked. “You’re the Alpha’s prize mated.”

I felt my breath and my consciousness gradually leaving my body. This wasn’t real! This has to be a joke! Please! Please tell me this is a horrible dream.

My body started to shake out of my control as my eyes glance up at him.

The thrill was all over his face and his eyes danced with excitement, smiling menacingly down at me.

Mate! I’m his... Mate?

“Yes...you belong to me...” He seethed. “Every bit of you, flaws and all, is mine... You’re all mine!”
